Will the Versa text message reply options ever work with iPhone? Or will that remain an Android only feature?

Hey, there! @KJGREALTOR Welcome to the Fitbit Community
We are working with partners to find ways to bring quick text replies to messaging apps for iOS and Windows users – we hope to share more on this in the future. We’d love to be able to offer quick text replies to our iOS users now, but Apple operates a closed ecosystem that doesn’t allow us to deliver this feature at this time.

Educated guess, Android only. Think it's a limitation of how iOS implements Bluetooth and locks down the messaging system. Had a similar situation in my last car: Android could reply to texts using the radio head unit, but not iOS.
Similar thing in reverse seems to be how on iOS you can accept or reject calls from the watch, but not in Android .Now that one really confuses me

This was a huge reason why I got a apple watch series 3. ( I still wore my fitbit flex 2 cause I didnt want to lose my stats since 2014....i got issues) But I never used it !!! It would take so long for the message to send, my voice to text was never clear.. IDK..... Eventually I gave the apple watch to my mom..
Seriously, the thing I miss most about the apple watch is the pinging my phone feature cause I'm always misplacing my phone....if the versa could get something like this going, I'd jump for joy...not kidding.

Well, I’m at a serious crossroads. I sold my Apple Watch 2 a month ago so I could pre order this new Fitbit. But then I found out about the iOS compatibility issues. I imagine eventually the two will communicate, but now I am with an empty wrist. I have to make a decision. Buy a new Apple Watch, and go back to normal, or the Fitbit Versa, and just hope the technology communicates soon. If there was even a chance that it would work by December, I’d choose Fitbit. But I absolutely MUST get notifications of calls and texts, and be able to accept or decline calls. I need to be able to send quick replies.

Hello everybody! Most of you have several questions that I would like to address so hopefully this will help anyone who checks this thread.
Text and call notifications are available for iOS devices but text replies aren't due to the close OS environment. This feature will be available for Android devices in the future.
Female health tracking will be available in May 2018 so it is just a matter of time for everyone to get this feature.
The phone location is a great idea, please vote for the idea in our Feature Suggestions board. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it.
Let me know how it goes!

I bought the Versa for the quick text feature. And your telling me I can’t use it with an iPhone. Can I ask for a refund?

Right. It’s strange they didn’t anticipate people wanting that feature with iOS. They can blame Apple but I’ll bet they eventually find a work around that probably could have been planned for prior to release. It’s really disappointing and lead me to return mine and my wife’s.

I already have a Blaze.. which works great. I bought Versa specifically for being able to respond to txt in a timely manner due to what I do for work. I researched Versa before purchasing it and never once read that it wouldn’t be compatible to iOS. I however am not blaming anyone. I do feel as if I wasted my money though

It was mentioned on Fitbit's own blog a month before release, you didn't "research" very well 🤔

Hey guys! I hope you are doin' well!
Let me explain to you that, for iOS devices, there is no quick replies options yet, and to be completely honest with you, I don't have a time frame for this to be possible or if is gonna be available any time soon, 'cause as my friend @AlessFitbit mentioned, iOS has a different and closed software that doesn't give to many options to work with. However, for Android users, this feature has already been released with the latest Versa Firmware Version (32.32.10.15), which all Versa users can expect to have it within a few weeks.
If you have further questions, let me know!

Same here. I read a *lot* about the versa before I bought it and didn’t hear about it not working with Apple until after I pre-ordered. I was totally willing to over look this (write it off as my fault) if not for the fact that the step count is soooooooooooo terrible on the versa! I posted before that scratching my nose counts as 3 steps! And the option of “turn the watch off when driving” instead of getting 509 steps is terrible as I like to look at the watch if I get callable of texts to see if I need to pull over.
Im two days into my versa and I am having a hard time overlooking the flaws
