I’m just curious...I understand the quick reply text function will be available for android users sometime in May for the Versa. Now will this be given to us through a software update or should I just wait till that function comes out before buying a Versa? I don’t want to buy a Versa and find out I have to buy a different version.

I found a cnet article That told me to go to notifications on the app and it would be there but I do no see it. May be that was for the versa. I have the ionic.

It is for both, but currently only available for Android-paired devices. You need both the app update for the phone and the software update for the Ionic.

Welcome to the Forums @Bwilliamson

I have moved your post to the Versa board as I think it is much better suited for it.

As for replying texts messages with your watch, it is possible to do so. You can read more about it in here

Hope you find this useful!

Feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance.

I got the update a few days ago and now, I cannot only reply to texts with 5 pre-set replies and several emojis, but I can now answer and reject calls with my Versa, though I still have to use my Galaxy S9+ to talk.  I can even reply by text to a rejected phone call!  This was not expected and I am loving it!

Fitbit Ionic (27.32.10.15)

Fitbit app Version 2.71(2193273)

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for your help!

@Locnlovely I'm seeing reference that the Android device needs to be running Android 7.0 or higher to be compatible with quick replies.

Can you add or delete quick reply texts?

I know you can customize the quick reply texts. I don’t think you can add more although that would be great. I would love to have more than 5 options.

open your Fitbit app, click on your Versa, click on notification and then tap on the quick replies. from there you tap on the preset response and you can customize it to what you want to say. hope that helps.

As of now there are so many problems with the quick replies that I would wait another month until they work out all the bugs.  I have the ionic and quick replies work for me for 2 days and now it's not

Mine works just fine. I had set up my second Versa (first one died) and I have no problems with the quick replies. I was actually surprised that we also have some emoticons along with the 5 quick replies.

Like I said mine worked just fine too for 4 days emoticons and all. Now for some reason the reply button change to read and there is nothing I can do that's why I was looking for answers.

Hello Everyone,

I recently bought the fitbit versa for the perks of being able to send a quick reply message when someone texts me.

I have done a lot of research on here as far as finding a solution, I checked if everything was up to date. (which it was). and even downloaded a few apps that i thought would help enable the quick reply option. I think it's odd how i can send a text message when i miss someone's phone call but not when I get a text message.. I have also gone into my phone settings and I do not have the "advanced" option to enable the "unknown" system in order to get this option.this is really frustrating for me which is why I am posting about it, I hope there is someone else in the same boat who has a solution, I feel like i have tried everything to get this to work.

thank you.

Hello everyone and thank you for your participation in the Fitbit Community. I merged some of your post to keep the focus of this topic in one thread.

With the latest firmware update, this feature was implemented for Android users. However I've seen some still have some questions on its functionality. So, let me step in and offer you some help:

In order to have the "Quick Reply" option, make sure to update the Fitbit Versa to the latest Firmware version. Once the firmware is updated, you will have the option on your Fitbit app.

To configure your quick replies, go to your Versa settings and access the Notification preferences:

Quick1.jpg

When you access the Notification preference, a new option will be available now, called: Quick Replies. Tap here and select the app you want to personalized with your own quick replies.

This is optional, note that if you do not change any of your quick replies, it will have default replies. That immediately will be available on your Fitbit Versa.

Quick2.jpg

Regardless if you have configured your messages or you decided to use the default replies, you will now received your notificatifications on your Versa watch with the option to reply right from the watch. (Remember that you need to select previously the apps you want to receive notifications. I'm gonna attach a video in case you need more help with this. This video refer to the Ionic, however the process is the same)

Now a few things you need to know before:

  • In order to reply, you need to tap on your Versa screen, the message you want to respond > Tap the option to reply or clear the notification, if is the case. > In the next screen, it will prompt the default or personalized messages. In addition, there is another tab that will allow you to respond with default emojis.

  • When you clear all the notifications on your watch, this action will mark your messages "as read" on your phone too. The same happen if you dismiss or read the messages on your phone. It will remove the notifications from your watch.

  • And remember, if you change any default message for your apps, make sure to sync your Fitbit app for the changes apply to your Fitbit Versa.

More help can be found in our help article: How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?

Hope this helps and keep enjoying this cool feature.

I wish you guys at Fitbit would read these messages and actually reply to the message and not just keep putting the same stuff up on there. Quick replies did work for me for 4 days now it does not there is no option to reply. Everything is updated I'm using a standard messaging app. Maybe Fitbit shouldn't have acquired Pebble because obviously you guys ruined what pedal had going. And you can't get your own iOS to do exactly what that watch is already doing what a waste of money.
