Quick reply text function

I’m just curious...I understand the quick reply text function will be available for android users sometime in May for the Versa. Now will this be given to us through a software update or should I just wait till that function comes out before buying a Versa? I don’t want to buy a Versa and find out I have to buy a different version.

It will come via a software update. You can safely order the versa whenever you want and will get the quick reply when it becomes available.

Any idea when this will become available to android users? It was one of the major selling factors for me to go out and get the versa and every time I get a text I'm unable to get a quick reply option to reply with 😭 hoping it' already a function because that's what fitbit's advertising video for versa shows!!

@Geeoorgieporgie Yeah, this feature was one of the reasons I upgraded to the Versa too. I heard it’s suppose to be available to us around May along with the female tracker. So, hopefully we’ll get the update around then.

Hopefully!! I was legit like yeah this is literally everything I've been waiting for in fitbit buuuuuuuut I guess that's what I get for not looking further than the video. Hoping the may update with the quick replies and woman' health tracker comes to everyone (I'm in new Zealand)

There was a press release on the versa general availability a couple of days ago which said:

Beginning in May, these new Fitbit features will be available:

• Quick replies: Android mobile device users can respond to messages on the go using Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Ionic ™ smartwatches. Create and send up to five custom pre-populated quick replies of 60 characters or less to text messages and messenger apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

If it is done via update to the app, it will be the same as  any other phone app update, automatic or when you choose, depending on your phone settings.

If it is done via firmware update to the Fitbit itself, there will be an obvious notice in the app that update is available.  If it's not then clear how to do that firmware update, you can ask here then.

I got the update. The app offered options to customize replies, but when I get messages on the watch, there is no option to reply, only "clear."

Is there an extra step to update the versa? I read somewhere on this thread that the watch would be updated through the app.

I have a Samsung S8 and just got the versa fitbit. Question are you able to reply to texts?

Do any of you have an update available that will let u install quick replies yet? I read it came out Monday but I'm not seeing any banner on my app to update.

It's still being rolled out so you will get it eventually. I have the update on my versa.

Are the pre-set messages set up when you get a text or can you assign them in the app? I just updated a few minutes ago and can't find any information on this. Any information you have to share would be most appreciated.

They can be edited in the app.

I love the quick reply update!

However it would be great to be able to customize the preset Smiley's aswell! I often use Smiley's to reply but would like to set Which to use. Thank you
