Step Sensitivity

I have had my Versa for a few days. While I love it I have noticed that it seems overly sensitive when tracking steps particularly while driving. In a 30 minute drive it clocked up over 1000 steps :S. i wearit on my left wrist and read that changing the setting to dominate hand would possibly resolve this but it has not. Has anyone else had this issue and if so any tips to rectify it ?

I have only had this watch for about 24 hours however I too have noticed a pretty sensitive step counter. My Charge HR wasn't this sensitive. I had about 50-100 steps counted while I was in the car on a highway. I have not tried anything to fix this as I wanted to give it more time +/- see if FitBit comes out with any updates.

Anyone else noticing this?

I’m the opposite. I have lost thousands of steps today!

Oml I’m in the same situation and am irritated.  I went from using a Misfit that I LOVED but wanted a step up thinking a Fitbit has to be “better.”  Hoping for a quick fix or this thing is going back

The first night I had it I gained nearly 5k steps sitting at my computer.

I drove for about 5 hours today and got several thousand steps recorded along with 70 flights of stairs! Never had an issue with my Charge 2.

It’s very weird. Hopefully it will be sorted in a software update in the future

Love this comment :), but to be more accurate, we will be "FIT" but "FAT" keeping up with the calorie requirements 🙂

Hi,

I can't say I've had an issue with the steps counter. Like you I have set it to dominant hand and wear it on my left wrist - I'm right handed. How are you getting on with it?

I had the same problem while driving, I contacted Fitbit and after a few emails back and forth the suggested turn the Fitbit off while driving😢 in never had this problem with my blaze what is the point of upgrading !

Makes no difference. Mine is constantly adding steps while I’m driving. When this happens going up hills, it also adds floors climbed. Like 73 floors in a few hours of driving!

I have been testing the drive bit app which helps you log your drives then it removes the associated steps from your Fitbit. So far it’s a good solution

I have the same problem while driving. The steps don't even add on my hand motion which i would find to make sense. My hand is still and it adds steps from car vibrating alone.

Didn't happen with my charge 2 as well.

I got like 30 min of activity when I blow dried my hair. Not just steps but also "activity/exercise". It's super annoying bc I don't know if it's always over counting or if sometimes it's over counting and sometimes under counting making it a wash.

They need to fix this bc otherwise the device is pointless.
