Hello,
I work for a software team that utilizes the Fitbit web API to track step counts, activity, etc. for research participants and clinical programs.
We recently learned of a Fitbit web api incident between August 30 and September 19 that resulted in erroneous step counts and activity data for participants in our programs (i.e., they see that their step counts are higher according to their Fitbit than what our app reports). The incident is marked as resolved according to Fitbit, yet when we try to backfill data for affected participants from that timeframe, it appears that the data is still incorrect.
Is there any information about when the root cause will be identified and it will be possible to backfill the missing data?
Thanks,
Michael

Hi @mjosephs
The incident you mentioned causes some incidents on our side which we are working through. One of those issues is the high step count. We are still working on a fix for this problem and I hope to have an update for you soon.

Is this being tracked anywhere publicly so we can know if there is a resolution? Thank you!

Hi @John-S
We are working on a fix for the mismatch step count between the mobile app and Get Daily Activity Summary endpoint. I should have more information mid-next week. Updates will be shown in the reported forum posts.
