Cannot Reach 'MANAGE MY APPS' Page

ANSWERED

I am signed in to https://www.fitbit.com/dev and would like to update the callback url on my personal app. When I click on the MANAGE MY APPS tab I am redirected to https://www.fitbit.com/partnership.

@pjansen Thank you for this!!!

How ridiculous is it that they changed the path structure but didn't update any of the links to use that new structure? lol

Such a rooky mistake, it's ridiculous.

On Friday I even called Fitbit support and told them about this.  But they run a foreign call center and the staff there couldn't care less.  They just kept telling me they would email some other team internally.  I tried to explain that our integration is broken for thousands of mutual customers but they have "no process for escalating issues."

Also, their status page still shows no issues.  So they clearly still don't even know this is going on despite calls into their support team, this thread, emails to their dev team, and tweets at FitbitDev...

This partially worked for me as well.

using the below link i could get the the console.  hovering over the link to my app i could see the old URL so just modified it to the new format

https://www.fitbit.com/dev/apps

https://www.fitbit.com/dev/apps/details/<MyProjectID>

However on that page The button forms still are broke.

I used the DOM View (F12) and found the button to locate the link and modified that to the new format

https://www.fitbit.com/dev/apps/edit/<MyProjectID>

that allowed me to get to the old edit screen to change properties.  Unfortunately, hitting the save redirects back to the https://www.fitbit.com/partnership page and the changes are not saved.  Not sure how to get around that until fixed.  Hopefully fixed soon.

I have a hard time believing they actually broke this for everyone.

Embarrassing.

Good news all, it looks like they've fixed it. I can now access https://dev.fitbit.com/apps and save any changes to my settings.

Hi everyone,

Over the weekend, we had an outage of the Fitbit Developer Portal website.  We apologize for any inconvenience you had not being able to access your applications.  We appreciate everyone who reported the issue to our community forums notifying us that the site was down.  As a result, we were able to quickly resolve the problem.

I see several people have bookmarked the URLs https://www.fitbit.com/dev and https://www.fitbit.com/dev/apps.  Several years ago, we redesigned the Fitbit Development Portal and changed the domain to dev.fitbit.com.  Please note the correct URLs for accessing the Fitbit Development Portal are https://dev.fitbit.com/ and https://dev.fitbit.com/apps.

If you are still having problems accessing the site, please let me know.

Hi @GordonFitbit ,

Thanks for confirming this - I verified and it does work via the direct URL (https://dev.fitbit.com/apps).

Is there also a plan to make this link available again via https://dev.fitbit.com?  Right now under Manage there is a Gallery Apps Manager which links to https://gam.fitbit.com/apps.  However, there are no apps listed there (only my Developer profile name and ability to click 'Create app').  This is likely confusing for most people.

Hi @ericblue

I'm confused by your question.  Would you please share some pictures of what you mean?

@GordonFitbit any chance we can have a better way to communicate issues with the Fitbit team?  As I mentioned earlier in this thread, calling your support team was not effective (and I never actually got a response to my ticket).  There doesn't seem to be any way to actually communicate with the Fitbit team even though we have thousands of mutual customers that depend on this integration...

Hi @HenryParadiz

There are 2 ways to get access to the Web API support team

  1. The community forums - https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Web-API-Development/bd-p/dev
  2. Our "Getting Help" page - https://dev.fitbit.com/build/reference/web-api/help/

The other support offers provide support for our trackers and they might not understand your problem.
