Different number of steps from API calls than in dashboard

Hey,

 

Our users have been reporting lately that the API calls for their number of steps are different than the number of steps they have in their dashboard.

 

Any idea where the problem could be? Is anybody else experiencing that lately?

Two possibilities spring to mind:

  • Dashboard figures are updated only when devices sync, so usually lag.
  • Your clockface/app may be using 'local' rather than 'adjusted' steps. The former does not take into account steps accrued on other devices. The dashboard always reports 'adjusted' figures, (I think).

Can you provide me with an example of steps you're seeing from the API versus a screenshot of steps shown on a user's dashboard?

 

I'm interested to know which endpoints you're using.

Ignore my previous. I didn't notice 'web API' and assumed 'device API'.
