First day of historical data

Dear there,

How to determine the beginning date when I query history data with "start-date"?

I understand that the start date cannot be before 2009. However, not all accounts have data beginning from 2009. To avoid rate limits, I'd like to know the first day of a user's history to limit the historical query.
