Is there any way to send messages to a user's friend via the API?  I've been through the API docs and can't see a way but I'm hoping I missed something.

 

I'm developing an application that uses the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code Grant and would like the user to be able to send messages to their fitbit friends to invite them to use our app.

There isn't an API for doing this.
