Only "structured_workouts" via API from Google Pixel devices

Hi,

I see a problem related to Google Pixel Devices and the Fitbit Web API. It seems, trainings tracked with a Google Pixel Watch i.e. running workouts are missing activity Type information.

In the past the activity name attribute was something like "run" or "bike", to see if its a running or biking workout. However at trainings tracked with Google Pixel Watch, this attribute only has the name "structured workout" and the TCX File has at the "sport" Attribute only "other".

However the users say in fitbit app the workout is marked as "run" or "biking" workout.. Any ideas if there is somewhere else a hint about the activity Type?

Kinde Regards,

Thomas

Hi @enduco

Welcome to the community! While this behavior is by design, I am currently checking with the team to see if there is any additional information I can share with you.

Did the team ever get back to you about this? A lot of our users are having this issue. All of them are using the Pixel Watch. Some have Pixel Watch 3 and others have Pixel Watch 4. Any update would be greatly appreciated because our hands are tied at the moment

Hi @HenryParadiz

Thanks for checking in. I know this is a priority given the scope of the Pixel Watch issues you've described. This issue is still in the queue for review, and while I don’t have a status update just yet, I am keeping a close eye on it. I’ll notify you the moment I hear back from the team.

Hi All,

The new name “Structured Workout” is by design.  We’re defining how certain exercises contain multiple components.  For example with runs recorded on the Pixel Watch, the exercise might contain start & end times, warmup & cool-down periods, sets/laps, etc.  We have opened a ticket request to the Product team to add further explain structured workouts to our official documentation shortly.
