Active minutes not showing

Why does my Fitbit Zip often fail to acknowledge "active minutes?" Have recently had several times it shows an orange or even green bar which indicates active minutes but doesn't record them in the "active minutes" chart. I've had 1200 steps in one 15 minute segment and it shows no active minutes. I know that the Zip is the cheap product but still if it can see that there's more than 1000 in one 15 minute segment how can it not manage to track them?

I've been consistently disappointed with the Zip and that certainly does not tempt me to buy a better Fitbit tracker, it just makes me think Fitbits aren't particularly well-made.

Welcome to the Forums @commname52! I really appreciate that you have shared your experience with Fitbit Zip. This helps us to keep improving our product and services.

To make sure that your tracker is working correctly, please restart it. Also, keep in mind that active minutes are a measurement of time spent doing activity that is more intense than regular walking. To read more about active minutes take a look to the help article What are active minutes?

I hope this helps, keep me posted with the outcome! 😉

I've had it for two years, I know what active minutes are and it isn't counting them all.

Thanks for the update @commname52! I really appreciate that you have followed my suggestions above.

To better assist you, can you please attach a picture of your app's Dashboard or if you are using Fitbit.com from your activity log. Also, please include the date, name and time of the activity you were doing.

I look forward for your reply! 🙂

In all three cases it registered a couple of minutes with the first orange bar and then didn't register the minutes for the subsequent green bars. And these are just two of the days that it happened. And I refresh the page and do all kinds of things and it just sticks at a number that doesn't reflect all the steps. And if it's green I'm doing a combination of running in place as fast as I can for 15 seconds and then walking up and down in the same room - doing a version of high intensity interval training and I know I do it for 15 minutes because I look at the fitbit time and do it for 15 minutes.
I'm not trying to be argumentative but I'm 65 and have done every kind of regime you can name including personal trainer, step classes, weight training classes and now Fitbit, I pay attention to times and I know it's not registering. And this has nothing to do with active minutes but today I was up walking around for at least 15 minutes, went outside to feed the outdoor cats, walked to the back of the yard to see if the onions had sprouted, made coffee, looked at the fitbit and it said 0 steps. I mean come on, it's not like I tiptoed 3 steps and there's nothing, I walked from one end of the house to the far end of the yard. I know this irritates the Fitbit moderators but I continue to believe they're just cheaply made and not particularly accurate. Another thing it does that make me crazy is send a "low battery warning" then later it says the battery level is high and several more weeks go by before it says it's low again.
And when I say these things on the comment board I get a note from the moderator that it's not productive. Well, it may not be productive but it's true.

1/21 it registered 6 minutes1/24 it registered 271/25 it registered 29
Sorry to complain but it's irritating.  Roxanne
