I just replaced the battery Saturday and it's down to half full 3 days later. I don't have any updates available. How can I get my battery to last?

I agree that the Zip it totally useless. I have had a draining battery and no alerts even though I have switched on texts and emails only to find it hasn't been capturing the steps for days. I have had a replacement one and various instructions to keep checking the battery mount inside but there is too much mucking about. And I am only getting a month if I am lucky from the batteries. Like the other person said I will get a Garmin or look for the Jawbone one - totally done with Fitbit.

Welcome aboard @SunsetRunner, it's always nice to see new faces around. Sorry you feel that way, our intention is help users to stay motivated, but I understand where you're coming from.
As it was mentioned in this thread earlier, it has taken the team longer to identify the root cause of why some users are experiencing rapid battery drain with while syncing the Zip to an iOS device (iOS version 2.41.1+). We will continue to investigate, but I don't currently have a timeline for fix. Along with turning off all day sync, we do suggest syncing to a computer or Android device if possible.
If you're also having same issues with and Android or PC, please check these tips to troubleshoot battery drain issues.
Thanks for report this and for being patient.

Hi Yojana,
At the risk of appearing a bit pedantic, this has nothing to do with the version of the operating system. You keep referring to 'iOS version 2.41.1+', in other words, anyone using an Apple device. As I understand it, iOS version 2 dates back at least to 2010 which in iphone terms is the jurassic period. I've got 3 Apple gadgets and the oldest of them, an iphone4 from 2011, is stuck on iOS 7. ...Just saying 😉

I have a Fitbit One for years and finally died. Bought a Zip and having the same battery problems. 5 battery replacements in 8 weeks. Tried all of the "tips" to correct the problem to no avail. Have had chats with support twice, first saying to avoid sync with IOS. OK, then I sync with my Windows pc and the same problems. Second chat said since I did not buy the unit from a "qualified vendor" Fitbit does not stand behind their products. Offered to give the serial number off of the box but agent did not want it.
I am now with some others, I will be looking at competitors products to buy. Do not want a wrist component, just something for the pocket. Fitbit no longer sells this or will stand behind their products of this type.

I have had multiple notices of a dead battery in the last several weeks but have ignored them and my battery revived itself. As an option for you...I’ve not personally used the flex 2, but the tracker is rechargeable, removable and fits in clip case that is available on Amazon. My sister has one and it works well for her.

I got my new Zip in January. Everything ran fine until yesterday when it stopped synching. Then the battery icon appeared. I replaced the CR2025 and it started draining almost immediately. Two days and I've burned through THREE batteries! This will put me in the poorhouse at this rate! Now it's not even synching. Done with Fitbit.

Which one do you use now? I'm looking but it's confusing! I don't think Garmin makes one that clips...only the wrist ones. What do you suggest?

I was so thrilled with my Fitbit that I ordered from you. It ran for 4-5 months on the same battery. Walking was a dream. Changed battery yesterday and zip counts steps but won’t sync to iPhone. This morning battery is dead!😩

Welcome to the wonderful world of Fitbit Zip. As in “zip” quality, “zip” battery life, and “zip” support. Try a Garmin.

Got a Fitbit Inspire (not Inspire HR) and it is able to take off the straps and put in a clip similar to the Fitbit One. Works just like the One but with much more technology. Working great for now.

It does have a battery. I don't recall reading a post here that mentions anything about rechargeable. Can you show it to me?

Are you referring to the Zip or the Inspire? The Zip has a battery but not rechargeable, just a watch battery. The Inspire does have a rechargeable battery and I am quite please with the Inspire. If the Inspire is what you are speaking of I can post some picture for you.

I've had a FitBit One for over eight years and because the battery has finally died, I managed to get a FitBit Zip as new old stock from eBay. I paid a premium price for it because they're quite rare now.
I was expecting at least three months battery life but I'm having the same issue as other people have reported in this thread. A battery is lasting around two weeks before it's completely drained.
It's not the contacts, the device just seems to completely destroy batteries in a fraction of the claimed time.
I wish I'd seen this previously because if I had, I wouldn't have bought the Zip.
You say that this happens with any iOS device running iOS 2.4.1+. Considering iOS 3 was released in 2009, this problem has been in existence for over twelve years. In all that time, nobody has been able to fix it? That's frankly ridiculous. Are you just hoping that in time, everyone will throw away their Zips and this won't be an issue any more?
You say one should 'turn off all day sync' but don't give any instructions on how to do this.
It's really frustrating. I don't want to go away from the Fitbit family of products because I have a good bunch of friends that I regularly do challenges with and it would be a shame to no longer be part of that community. A wrist based Fitbit is no use to me whatsoever because I already wear a smartwatch and Fitbit no longer offer any standalone/pocket pedometers.
