I am a computer literate person, but am having difficulty with syncing because FITBIT needs to publish a concise setup and use instruction. For example: I had to call the company to find out that the unit never shuts off and it wakes up from sleep mode when you move it; it does that when it senses vibration. The setup also needs a concise instruction about the Dangle that goes in the USB Port. I found out by trial and error that it should be removed after the initial setup. It would also be nice to know if Fitbit has a syncing schedule; my experience is it randomly, once a day, syncs. I have been unable to sync at random times.
After a walk it does not upload the activity to Fitbit consistently. I like the idea of this device, but better instructions and a description of its operation would be a great help.

My problem has been solved by Fitbit Customer Support, Emmanuel. The syncing problem has been resolved as follows:
1. Root cause of the non-syncing was a weak Bluetooth signal from my computer.
2. Uninstalled the Fitbit App and reinstalled it from the Play Store.
3. Verified Bluetooth was active and paired by looking in my computer Settings.
Did not work because of the weak Blue signal from Computer, so did the following:
FROM MY Mobile Phone:
1. Uninstalled the Fitbit App and reinstalled it from the Play Store.
2. Verified Bluetooth was active and paired in my Mobile Phone Settings.
Problem resolved and syncing occurred on Phone, Computer and Tablet.

Agree, the Manual is pretty big for the little package.
Welcome to fitbit @fjafit ! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do.
page 8 To conserve battery life , your Zip sleeps during periods of inactivity. Zip will go to sleep after approx 20 sec if no steps are recorded. Once your Zip is asleep, its display will remain off until moved.
page 4 point 7, should really mention USB port since a USB dongle
page 5 auto every 15 min if...
Refreshing the manual from time to time is definitely a good idea.
Thanks for sharing your setup experience, this is how we all learn.

Thanks for your feedback. However, it may be noted that I have done the complete procedures shown on page 5 and still it does not sync, either after 15 minutes or forced.
