Can I replace my Zip mid-day without losing steps?

My current Zip, which is almost three years old, is starting to crap out...I have a replacement Zip ready, but I am fearful I lose steps for today (and maybe this whole quarter) if I replace it now.  If I replace it now, will I lose step credit today (I have 8000 on the day so far), since I cannot have two Zips on the same account??

Hi, @Kimmie7609, the short answer is probably not, or at least probably not many.   But if your new Zip had a working battery at the same time as your old Zip then it might have been detecting steps during the same time period.  So when you sync them up, it is possible that steps could be lost.  If this is a big issue for you, I would make the changeover first thing in the morning, when there aren't many steps to lose.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!  Welcome to the Forums!

No worries. As long as you sync your old Zip to your profile, then all your steps will be captured. Your lifetime steps accrue on your profile on Fitbit's servers. You can change trackers and you can have multiple trackers connected to your profile at any time, which is a nice feature.
