Cannot sync to iPhone

The Zip just quit syncing. I have wasted hours of my life uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting my phone, taking the battery out of my zip for 5 minutes and replacing it with a fresh one. The display on the Zip is alive and “awake”. The Zip is laying on top of the phone so it is near. There are no other devices nearby. It still will not connect or sync. Beyond frustrated. I pray someone makes something that works. Other than throwing this in the garbage, does anyone have any suggestions.
