Not a watch wearer, never have been in my 54-years on earth, which has made the Zip a godsend for me.
Been wearing them probably since not long after they were introduced in 2012.
Has kept me motivated and moving -- even after suffering a major HA in August of 2014 -- ever since.
When I first started wearing them, the clip would last six months or so before the rubber where the metal runs across the back of the zip would give way.
I would inform Fitbit and they would send me a new one free of charge.
After a few years, probably 2015, they started charging for replacement clips. Can't remember what they cost, but it isn't the $15 they charge now.
They also started falling apart faster. My latest one was no longer usable after less than two weeks.
You can get knockoffs online for $5-$6, but they probably will not last much longer than two weeks.
I know Fitbit would prefer everyone to be wearing their wrist-based accessories.
They're more expensive and people don't often see a zip, but they might notice their products on a person's wrist.
Ala, free advertising.
But it seems Fitbit has forgotten where and what got them started.
They're a fitness tracker, first and foremost, not a fashion accessory.
