I have had my new Fitbit Zip a few months now and love it. I was going to by another one for a relative but found its no longer available on the Fitbit Site. Please tell me your not discontinuing it.

will only use a clip on, so considering the issues I just posted with poor tracking, and more the loss of data I had visualized 30 mintues before, I will be done with my zip and fitbit...mo
Hello @000022222 what you'd want is the Inspire, with the optional clip that you can wear on your waist band. The Zip has been discontinued, but there are those of us who still answer the posts. Finding the Inspire should be easy. You can get it at the Fitbit Store (online) or at different local or online retailers. Is that what you're asking about? Fitbit won't contact you, but you should remove your email address from your post as we are a public forum. You might get emails from all sorts of people. Stay safe.
Best Answer@J-flex Amazon carries them, but my goodness they are not $59 like Fitbit had them priced. My friend bought a spare and has it ready, just in case her current Zip dies!
Best AnswerI know. Nothing like gouging the end user. Desperate times lead to desperate measures.
Best AnswerAgreed. There is no good business reason to retire the Zip. Greed is the only reason I can find, and that alone is enough to make me look for alternatives once my poor, last Zip can no longer carry on. This is a ridiculous decision that clearly shows a lack of interest in customer care. TERRIBLY disappointed in a company I had been a loyal fan of for years.
Update on my Inspire (almost 3 months now). I use it with a clip because the bracelet is not comfortable. It's a pain to dig it out of the clip every 4-5 days to charge the battery. Also, about once a week it quits working altogether and I have to go through the reset procedure (also digging it out of the clip again). Then there are the days when my app "can't find tracker." I can't believe how much trouble this Inspire device is. I am losing interest in tracking my steps. Thanks for nothing, Fitbit.
Thank you fran1204 for your post. All of the things you said was what I was afraid of, taking the Inspire out of the clip every few days to charge and having a syncing problem every once in awhile. That pretty much makes the decision for me that I am not going to get one. I am now using the Samsung Health app on my phone for tracking steps and it works great, have been using it for more than a year. I was still using my Zip at the time until the Zip wouldn't sync anymore unless taking the battery out each time. Sure, I have to carry my phone all of the time in my pocket but it's such a habit now it's no big deal. The best of luck to you.
Thanks to fran1204 and Camptime38 ... the feedback about the Inspire is as I feared. In summary: more trouble than it's worth. Fitbit is hardly the only rodeo in town these days. I have just changed to a Samsung phone so will have a look at their Health app. Cheers both
The inspire with a clip is so much worse than the zip. I stupidly listened to the fitbit operator who, like you, said this was the equivalent. Wrong!! You have to recharge it every few days, and, in order to do so, you have to pry it out of the (as the old zip proved) fragile holder. A really, really bad response to a needed exercise tracker. I don't need sleep or swim. Just trying to pry out a few more dollars from users, which they did from me, because I am going to throw it out.
Has the Zip stopped syncing? Do I have to spend more money now? I was quite happy with Zip!
My Zip quit syncing in August as did others in this conversation and other posts about the zip. We would have to remove the battery each day to make it sync. I still have my Zip but don't use it. Instead I am using my phone and the Samsung Health app. Has all of the bells and whistles as the Fitbit app does and more. No syncing needed.
Thank you! Because I'm not tech savvy, I thought I was doing something wrong or had sent some instruction for the Zip to never never land! I guess now I spend more money! A communication of some sort would have been businesslike!
Hello @seymour123 the Zip is still very much around and I have a friend who uses one daily. All she does is keep an extra battery ready in case it's needed. Trouble syncing can be due to a problem of communicating between the Zip and your mobile device or computer. More information would help us to assist you. How have you been syncing?
Best Answer
Best AnswerI still have and use my original Zip. Best device ever imho. Manage to get 5-6 months per battery.
Best Answer@seymour123 which platform and which tablet? Not all of them are fully compatible, so they may have problems. Fitbit wants us to be content with our devices and they aren't trying to make any of us get a newer model. So, if you need assistance, we need to know more about how you're trying to sync.
