I have had my new Fitbit Zip a few months now and love it. I was going to by another one for a relative but found its no longer available on the Fitbit Site. Please tell me your not discontinuing it.

I've been a Fitbit Zip user since 2013 and I do NOT like to wear a bracelet type tracker.
I went through 5 Zips (that I paid for, full retail) in the last 7 years but stuck with Fitbit Zip.
As of 2 days ago, my Zip stopped syncing. This looks like the end of it.
I used to sync with my PC (Windows 7 & 10), my phone (Samsung S8+, using Android 9.0) and my tablet (also Android). Many times I had to retry 2 3 times (and more) for the device to connect and sync.
I am tech savvy and I know what I'm doing. After restarting devices, restarting the Zip, uninstalling and reinstalling apps, turning off and on the bluetooth option, changing batteries (even when they were fully charged) etc., I tried every move possible but it seems like Fitbit is now sending me a message that they don't want to support this device anymore.
I don't want all the fancy options of the Inspire. I'm a tennis player and all I want to see is: steps, distance and active minutes. The Zip did what I wanted. It's time to say goodbye (and not in a nice way... sorry) to Fitbit.
Can anyone recommend another device that is similar to the Zip?

I agree with you totally I don't want to wear anything on my wrist at all I loved loved loved my Fitbit Zip and it's not syncing anymore with my phone. I'm very disappointed and I still see on Amazon they are still selling the Fitbit Zip! This product should have a disclaimer saying that it will not sync and it has been discontinued by Fitbit cuz it's not right to be selling it the people think there's going to be working properly and it won't

Yes that is exactly what they did to us I don't want anything on my wrist I love the Fitbit Zip It served my purpose now it's not working at all in terms of tracking. so sadly I may just be going to a different tracking system because I'm disappointed and how they did this

Will the Inspire be obsolete in another year or two because now there's the Nspire one so what's the point of buying another Fitbit product if you decide to discontinue it but yet allow Amazon to still continue to sell it to people it's very disappointing very

I've not found anything with both the simplicity and sophistication of the Zip (and nothing as charming) but a couple sorry substitute options I've found are:
Omron HJ-327T Alvita Wireless Activity Tracker (no surprisingly, Fitbit killed the URL, but sounds like Amazon)
Garmin vivofit 3 (have to buy the clip, but it's not Fitbit, and is rated better than their sorry Zip substitute for pocket use) OZO Fitness SC 3D Digital Pedometer (30-day memory, but nothing like the dashboard, and nothing permanent (no sync)
Fitbit, do you see the lengths I'm having to go to because of your poor business decision?

seymour123 You can toss the Zip if you want, I quit using mine a few months ago, but don't quit walking, running, whatever you were doing. There are so many good stepping apps for our phones to use, easy and no syncing needed. I use Samsung Health, as many bells and whistles as Fitbit app and more. Sure I have to carry my phone all of the time but it becomes a habit after awhile. I have been using this app for about a year and half now. There are lots of other ones. Please don't quit moving. Before slowing down a few months ago I was putting in a million steps a month and I'm 68. Keep moving.

But you have to recharge every five days, with a tiny recharger which is easily lost while traveling, after prying it out of the case, which will last about three months. The zip required a battery change every six months

I,too, am disappointed a pocket device is not offered. I've had a Zip since 2011. I have looked at the Inspire and cannot see and mention of a clip?

As a tennis player, I love the Zip. It counts all my steps, distance and active minutes. The problem is with syncing.
Again, does anyone know of a similar device that can replace the Zip? Nothing fancy, don't need more than steps, distance and active minutes.
Please share your experience if you've used that device.
Thanks.

Is the Inspire reliable when it comes to syncing?
Is it really a pain to remove from the clip for the purpose of charging every few days?

Hi,
No it is easy to remove from the clip and it charges quickly. I have to
charge it probably every 5 days or so.

It's almost like they are keeping it a secret, I don't know why. You have
to really look for info on it. Also, I got the clip on Amazon but they do
sell it.

Thanks Patti.
Is the Inspire reliable with syncing?
I use Windows 10 and Android devices (not an Apple fan, haha).
