I have had my Fitbit Zip since the end of October, and it needs a second fresh battery. It looks like the firmware is current, but I am not getting the 4-6 months of battery life as expected. At this point, I wish I had bought a rechargeable fitbit. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm having the identical issues with my Zip. The battery life starting declining in Nov. First it was about 30 days and now it's a day or two. I really like the Zip and prefer it to the others, but I'm not going to keep a supply of batteries just to keep it going.
I've updated the firmware and checked the prong. I'm on hold with customer service now. Not happy.

@Zaxzey You did a great job by contacting to our Suppor team. Your particular battery issue makes me understand that your Zip wasn't working as expected. Zip tracker should work perfectly with a 3V coin battery, specifically one model (CR2025). Some users are giving testimony of a better battery duration using a 3V coin battery, model (CR2032).
As we always stated, Zip trackers with a good battery level (firmware updated to 86) should work more than 4 months (battery estimation of 4-6 months depending usage). The battery prong may cause issues if it's not properly aligned but sometimes the firmware isn't making any effect by itself.
Please take this into consideration, if you experience this again, try using a CR2032 and let us know how it works.
P.S. One of our advocates sent you a new email on January 29th. Please check your inbox later.

I gave up on my fitbit, it is impossible to change battery every month. I have others concerns to: normally I walk more than 10.000 steps a day but stay active only for 4 or 5 minutes. I wont change the batteries for one product that is not accurate. Other concern is that you do have not a tecnician to tell you what to do, you have only others that have the same issue.

@TheresaT Thanks for letting me know your battery issue. One of our advocates from Support will be in contact with you soon.
An exchange process is not possible, however, if you purchased your tracker from us within 45 days, we can take a look and tell you how to proceed (please let my coworker know about this). If you purchased your tracker from a retailer, please see them to ask for a refund or exchange. Thanks for your understanding.
@Marciaher Changing battery isn't an expected behavior. Zip's batteries should last more than some weeks, it lasts 4-6 months in regular use. Accuracy concerns may arise but we need to check our system in order to figure out what's going on with your tracker. Please contact to Support Team via email by clicking here, explain them this issue and let them know what troubleshooting steps have you tested so far. Good luck!
@candyradford What are you trying to looking for? Please let me know so I can help you further.

I am on my third zip(replaced free of charge) I have gone through two batteries since last Saturday. In fact, I replaced a battery tonight and it lost most of today's data.
Very frustrated this motivates me to move more but I cannot afford two batteries a week.
Firmware is up to date

I haven given up using my fitbit. I'm tired of having the new ones last about 5 months, only to have them not work after changing the battery. Sometimes the replacement battery will last a few days, other times I can't even get it to work when I put a new battery in. I have tried all the suggestions from Fitbit and other users, and it doesn't make a difference. Replacement batteries never seem to work for any lenght of time. I always check to see if my firmware is up to date. I kepr the bluetooth turned off on my phone except when I want to check my days progress. None of these helped to prolong the life of the original battery and like I stated before the subsequent batteries never really worked.

Yes. My oldish Fitbit Zip finds bought batteries very variable. Sometimes they last 3 months, sometimes only one. I am seriously considering buying a new Zip which takes rechargeable battery.
