now that Google has acquired Fitbit, can i sync my Zip with my Chromebook?

Hi @lourdes8677  Google has made an offer and it was accepted, but all the legalities haven't been complete and probably won't be until some point in 2020. Since they don't own Fitbit yet, I wouldn't count on any quick resolution to this issue. Give it time. It will be interesting to see.

Your not going to be able to sync through the Chrome OS until they add the ability for Chrome, a browser based OS, to communicate with a Bluetooth connected device.
