I'm afraid nobody is going to fix this as it's not a problem that's affecting everyone so must be down to a problem either with your fitbit or the device you are trying to sync to (phone, computer etc).

I'm also sorry to tell you that your fitbit only has enough memory to hold 7 days of detailed data between syncs so you will be losing data by now.

What do you normally sync to (PC, phone etc)?

As a first step I would try restarting your computer or phone and the then restarting your zip using this procedure:

Note that this doesn't always work first time so give it a few tries.

I tried everything from reinstalling the program to removing the battery etc. It wouldn't sync with the Zip setting on top of the dongle. I found out that if I tell it to sync, it says to try again and again. I found that, if I try it again, or just after it asks to sync, if I just drop the Zip onto my mouse pad from a couple of inches it will alway sync with in a very few seconds. I am wondering if someone else could try that and see if it helps them sync the Zip

I have had the same issues mine started acting up on Jan 26th. I changed the battery 3 times, and it would start out  the day fine, then it would re-sync itself at some part of the day or not at all. Then i would tap it and it would be all zeros again and time was off. I contacted customer service and they were able to see the issue and are replacing the device for me. You might want to ask them through the chat. That is what i did.

@Onefitchick@Abbydude1 welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's  great to have you here 🙂 @SteveH and @wildguess hope you are having a great day! 🙂 @Onefitchick are you still having issues with syncing your Zip? @wildguess Just to clarify your Zip doesn't sync when you use the Fitbit Connect to force a sync, it only syncs when you place it on the mouse pad next to the computer? If this is the case do you get any error message during this process? @Abbydude1 It's great to know you are back on track after contacting support! They rockSmiley Wink

I have set the fitbit right on top of the dongle, on two separate
computers, It does no good to set the fitbit on the table near the
computer. It has to be dropped on the table, or shaken hard to get it to
sync. I am just trying to let you know it has an issue that hasn't been
corrected by any of the troubleshooting tips that you have suggested. My
wife's fitbit is also the same style Zip and it always syncs. There are to
many people having apparently having this issue. I think this is a cool
device, and gives me the incentive to exercise, and I hope that you can
come up with a solution that will make this product (as advertised)problem
free. Thanks for your responding.

Hello @wildguess thanks for your reply! 🙂 I haven't heard of this issue before since shaking the tracker or dropping it on the table might cause damage to the Zip. I would recommend to restart your tracker one more time and troubleshoot as instructed on the help article: I can't sync my tracker

Let me know how it goes! 🙂
