Accepted Solutions
  1. Open the battery door using the battery door tool and remove the battery.
  2. Wait 10 seconds.
  3. Place the battery back into the tracker with the "+" side facing up, and close the door.

Your Fitbit Zip is now restarted. You will see your tracker's version number, followed by a series of Fitbit Smilies. When you tap your tracker, it should work normally. If your tracker still doesn't work after a restart, contact Customer Support.

Hi

I tried RobertoFitbit's solution but it did not seem to make any change.

So I tried replacing the battery, even though it was saying the battery was ok. At 12.00am it reset, so is working Ok now.

Thanks
Belinda

Hey that's great @BelindaJ. When these type of issues occurred, its normal that the changes take effect until the midnight, since it wont affect your stats immediately. Unfortunately is not possible to correct your steps once it has been carried to the next day.

The bright side is the issue was resolved for the following days and all is good now. Catch 'ya later.

Hi there @Karenmurray, welcome aboard to our Community. Note that this two option you want manually modify are managed automatically by the TImezone of your Fitbit Account.

Note that the time is controlled by the timezone you have configured on your account so there is no option to manually set 1 hour back on your Fitbit tracker. Perhaps a workaround on this instance would be to set a different timezone that has 1 hour of difference.

To see this option your can go to your Account tab > Scroll down until you see the option of Advanced Settings and here you can choose the timezone that  best fit on your local time.

As for the steps, the timezone plays an important role too since every midnight your steps are automatically reset to start a new count for each day, so if you try the previous workaround, have in mind your steps wont be reset exactly at midnight, but with the difference of time you have choose.

Hope this information helps and let me know if you have more questions.

I changed the Battery in my Fit Bit and it is recording the wrong time, steps and calories.  I changed it again with the same results.  How can I get it corrected?

Hi there @johnandbettyp! Good to see you in the Community! 🙂

If you're not seeing the right time and other information is not being tracked accurately on your Zip after putting the battery, you might need to sync it to your phone or computer. Make sure to do this and right after that, all the information should show properly on your tracker as well.

Let me know if you need more help with this after syncing.
