I bought my Zip almost a year ago, and I love it. I just don't want there to be an "d" at the end of love.
My Fitbit Zip won't track steps right!!!
Now, it could be because my Fitbit Zip has been in the washer a few times. Probably is. Anyways, I haven't used it for a while (months, even) because the time wasn't accurate, and neither were the steps. I put a new battery in today, and the time turned correct - but not the steps. My Zip counted too many steps, and I tried restarting it a few times more by taking out the battery. It didn't work.
I was wondering if it will ever work again, or if I need a new one (before, the steps were tracked accurately).
Thanks,
Chloe

@Chloeee_C thanks for joining us! It could be that the side spring may be bent as a result of improper battery insertion or pressure being applied to the back housing. Please verify that there is proper contact between the battery and the battery contacts inside your Zip tracker.
You can do this by opening the battery door of your Zip, removing your battery, and ensuring that the silver battery tab located in the lower right half of your tracker is flush with the white box outline in the tracker housing. The process can be followed here. Also, please take into account that your tracker isn't waterproof, so if it has been in the washer a few times then I suggest placing it in a bowl of dry rice for at least 48 hours, this will extract any moisture remaining inside your unit; after that perform a restart. Good luck and keep me posted!
