My Fitbit time keeps changing constantly. It is rarely on the correct time...and jumps around from 2 to 7 to 12, etc. Also, my steps are not being recorded. Do I need a new Zip?

Hi there @bevjy! Good to see you in the Community! 🙂

Usually this happens if the tracker resets multiple times. This means that the battery is loose inside the compartiment and that will cause the tracker to restart. To make sure this doesn't happen, remove the back cover, take out the battery and you will notice a little silver plate in the middle. Lift it up a little to make sure it will make proper contact wiht the battery and you will also notice a little metal piece to the lower right side. Make sure it's aligned with the white outlined square and once you've done this, put the battery back in place and see if this makes the tracker to work better.

Let me know how it goes!

Good to see you in the Community @pam46! 🙂

If your battery fits loose inside the tracker, you can try to lift the little metal plate with your finger nail, this way whenever you put the battery back in, it will be tighter and it should make proper contact and work fine.

Thanks for getting back @pam46! I'm sorry that it didn't work 😕

Are you still within your warranty period? It should be of one year. If you are, feel free to get in touch with the Support Team for them to help you out getting you back on track and if you're already out of warranty, still, get in touch with them. There might be a chance they can provide you with a discount applicable to any tracker that you could take advantage of.
