My stride length is 27". Do I have to set it into my Fitbit zip? I don't get the same number of steps using another step counter.

Changing your stride will not change the number of steps recorded, only the distance (it calculates distance by multiplying the step count by your stride length).

If you still want to override the default the following guide might help but my recommendation would be to leave it at the default settings unless you are sure it's wrong.

If you have 2 pedometers with different step counts I guess we have to question which is the most accurate. Perhaps do a test where you wear both and count out, for example, 200 steps and see what they say?
