Hello @B_Z1,
Welcome to the community!
It may be an issue where the terminals are not making a good enough contact with the battery. I would try two things:
Though keep in mind that the battery may legitimately be dead. I buy them in bulk at Amazon (you can get them for under $1 each).
If your battery is drained, then by all means replace it. You'll need to do this to get it back in working order. If it's draining faster than it should, then let us know and we can help you diagnose why that's occuring.
I hope this helps.

I faced similar problem for the past one month I tried replacing the battery with new one but did not help.
I felt that contact between battery and terminal was not properly held. I placed a folded piece of paper (with 4 folds)over the battery and then closed the cover. For the past one week my Zip is working well without missing time or steps.

Hi there @rsraghavan, welcome aboard to our Community and thank you for sharing with us you experienced something similar, although @PureEvil solution is great for these type of issues.
This issue is common with devices that held this type of battery connection, but the bright side is your tracker is working again.
For anything else you can find me here and stay awesome.

Hi there @speedy88-cork, welcome aboard to our Fitbit Community. Make sure the battery you are using a 3V coin battery CR2025.
Also like it was recommended before, review that the silver contacts are align and making good contact with the battery.
Let me know how it goes, I'll be here if you need more help.

I got my fitbit zip on 9/21/2016 and was working amazing, would randomly tell me the battery was real low then go back to full battery. When it said low battery for more then 5 days I changed it with a brand new battery and that's when I've been having problems, when it dies connect it says full battery so its not a faulty battery. I do on average 10,000 steps or more a day as my job is me always on my feet and today it said I was less then 3K. When I tap it it does the normal changes then shuts off, I tap it some more and then a 1 . Comes up on the tight side and comes back on, then shuts off again. I've tried taking the battery out again and again to reset it and its not working. I've had this for less then 3 months and unfortunately can't afford another fitbit but I love mine. I use it every single day and I don't know what to do to make it work again. Please help????
Best AnswerSo just after posting this, it won't turn on anymore. If I tap for awhile it will for a second then shut off again. I even put in another new battery just to be safe and its still not working. 😔😔
Best AnswerI just posted that I was having problems and I'm so glad I saw this. It fixed mine too 🙂 thank you!!!!
