Wristband for Zip

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I want to buy a wristband for my fitbit Zip to make it easier to look at my stats during excercise. I love the zip becuase it's so tiny and has an encouraging smiley like no other. I have heard that bands keep the Zip from tracking accurately. Is this true?

Thanks!

There are no official fitbit wristbands for the Zip as its not designed to wear on the wrist.

Wearing elsewhere than intended can interfere with the accuracy.

Once tried to wear the One in it's sleep wristband and it counted to many steps.. Cat Embarassed

If wanting to have a Fitbit Tracker for the wrist, consider getting the Fitbit Alta or Blaze. The Blaze has a more secure wristband, a coloured screen, fitstar exercises on the tracker and much more.

It's possible to have multiple trackers linked to the account and switch between using at any time.

Welcome aboard to our Community @TheSamuel.

The Fitbit Zip was originally designed to be worn close to the body. A shirt pocket, bra, pants pocket, belt, or waistband. However despite there is not  an official wristband for the Zip there are other from third party, It is not recommendable to use them since it may affect the accuracy of your tracker and it wont secure your tracker as it should.

If your mention of "accuracy" refers to STEPS, then I agree that a wrist band might not be helpful. However, my zip claims I burn between 60 and 100 calories when I do an hour long exercise class with a 20-30 pound bar bell, since it does not involve many steps. I think a wrist band might give me more "credit" for that class if it was attached to my wrist, since my arms move a lot more.

Hi there @vickysamster, welcome aboard to our Community. Indeed, when an exercise is not entirely step based, its possible the calorie count is lower. Since this is determine by the amount of steps you walked. This is not different from the wristband trackers since there are exercise that can't be tracked as a regular walk, to give you an example: weight Lifting.

The best on this situations if we are talking specifically about the Zip, is to manually log this exercises on your activity page. This will improve the accuracy of this activity's contribution to your caloric burn.

For more information related to manual activities you can follow this steps just in case you need them:

1. Go to the Activities page by clicking Log at the top of your dashboard, then click Activities.
2. Under Log Activities, click a common activity or search for your activity in the search box.
3. Select your activity from the search results. If the activity is not in our system, you have the option to create your own activity by clicking the Create custom activity text that will appear below the search field.
4. Enter the duration, distance (if applicable), and start time of your activity. You have the option to manually enter the number of calories burned here if you'd like to.
5. Click Log Activity. Your activity will now be visible and editable in the Logged Activities area.

Thank you for share with us your insight and stay awesome.
