My zip at times will reset back to zero, during the day. It will not capture my missing steps. I have removed the battery to insure that the battery is snug and the pin is making contact. My battery is flashing again to replace as I have replaced it last week. Any suggestions?

My Zip suddenly resets and I lose everything that has been recorded for the day.

My friend had the same problem as you. I recommend asking for a new Fitbit zip, as nothing we tried worked

Thanks for the help @ShaiKingTroy !;) Nice to see you here @CRClayton and @Marthaashworth! Thanks for sharing your experience with Fitbit Zip. Please confirm that you have restated your Zip following this tips and also, double check the metal spring inside the Zip's battery compartment. Sometimes your tracker will have battery issues when this is bent. Here is a picture of how it should look like:
@Marthaashworth You can also confirm that your tracker is properly syncing by following this post on how to fix syncing issues or, set up your tracker as new device.
Keep me posted! 😉

I've had and have never NOT had this issue. If the battery warning isn't forever showing even when battery is full, I get my fitbit zip resetting from zero. Frankly, I am getting sick of it. Unfortunately my Zip is out of warranty even though this battery issue has been with it almost since purchase, My fitbit simply isn't fit for purpose and I am loathe to buy another. I shall have to investigate other makes of trackers to find something more reliable. Thank goodness I never wanted a complicated tracker, just steps and distance.
I have checked that the Fitbit battery compartment is as it should be but to no avail. Should have bought a simple pedometer.

My Zip needed a new battery after about one week with a new battery. Now, it has reset during the day, for no apparent reason, for the last three days. I checked the metal piece under the battery and it looks fine to me. Now what?

Hi DubDruck, In my case, since the Fitbit is two months out of warranty, I shall have to investigate alternative devices as I am **ahem** sure I am not forking out another fifty quid for a device that doesn't fulfil its purpose. 😞

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Tried everything, nothing works. I have only had it a year, has not gotten wet either, keep changing batteries, very frustrating

Me too! So frustrating. I read this thread hoping to find solutions, but I've already tried all the suggestions without any success. The cynic in me wonders if FitBit is aware of the problems but doesn't bother to fix the Zip's glitches because it's their low-end inexpensive model. My perspective is why would I upgrade to FitBit's fancy models with lots of bells and whistles if they can't get the basic model function right. As a nurse I can't wear a wrist tracker, so the clip on Zip was perfect (while it was working!) Guess I'll look for a new brand to replace my FitBit. Good luck all, and keep active, with or without your Zips 🙂
