Zip Won't Sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My zip won't sync and hasn't for months.  I have tried everything fitbit has suggested.  The only way it will sync is if I take the back off, remove the battery and then replace it.  It will sync one time but that is it.  I am wearing out the back taking it off.  Obviously many others are having the same problem.  WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?????

I am having the same problem  for just as long as you have been the  problem.  Will it ever get  fixed.  It doesn't look like it will. I am getting ready to trash my firbit if something isn't done soon. It is very frustrating. All we get is they are working on fixing it.

I wish I had a solution for you!  But I too have been having this same issue for months & nothing Fitbit has suggested has fixed it.  They've sent me two replacements and the same thing happens.  When I tell them that they want to send another replacement, but clearly that won't help.  Disappointing.

I have a Samsung S9 and have the same issue.  I have tried several suggestions from various forums for Samsung and Fitbit with no luck.     My Zip is an older model.  Any more suggestions?

Your S9 should work and if you haven't contacted support you may want to.

The link is also found in the top right corner.

Try this sequence on the desktop.  Do NOT pair using windows 10.  If you have already paired, unpair the device.  You will let fitbit app do the paring.  Turn off the built in bluetooth of you computer.  Run fitbit app and let it prompt you to turn on Bluetooth, turn on bluetooth and then let it do the pairing.  Have the fitbit zip close to your computer obviously.

Try this on the Android device.  Similar to above but it will both turn on bluetooth for you and do the pairing.  So start with you zip device UNPAIRED, then turn off bluetooth then run the fitbit app and let it turn on bluetooth and do the pairing.  Then sync.

When @phmurphy says unpair it is referring to the Bluetooth of the phone and not removing the zip from the users Fitbit account.

BTW this is always the first step to try.

My zip just stopped syncing this week. Have had to remove the battery every day for it to sync.Thinking about getting a different Fit bit if this continues.

Yes I have tried everything. Only thing that works is taking the battery
out. I bought a Fitbit Versa HR and it works good with my phone. I really
didn't want to give Fitbit more of my money but I wanted a Fitbit to keep
up with my challenges with my friends and family. Fitbit obviously isn't
doing anything to fix the Zip problem.

I too am having the same problem using a Samsung Galaxy . Taking the battery out works. I also own a Flex 2 and was using the Zip as a backup as the Flex2 charged. Now that won't stay charged so I have put it away for a while. Frustrations......

Same issue and being that fitbit has updated their app several times over the past two years I think it is time for a firmware update. Version 5.90 has been around since 2017. Don't alienate us zip users please.

I wonder if this is the problem. Push this to your fit bit contact.

Windows 10 is fine with the dongle, the Android updates have 'jumped the shark', at least on the Samsung S7/S7 edge 😄
