Zip battery draining too quickly

Anyone else have a zip where the battery seems to drain too quickly? It used to last upto 6 months, and now I find myself with a low battery indicator within 2-4 weeks. I called support about this around sept/oct last year, I think the bug was introduced around that time, and they were "looking into it". And they are apparently still "looking into it" and the team is "informed about it so that they can keep moving forward in improving their products". Bottom line, no solution yet. Obviously the zip is not part of the flashy new product lineup any more, so doesn't look like there's much support for it any more. 😞 Too bad, it's still IMO the most accurate step tracker out there.

Thanks for posting your inquiry here and for trying to fix the issue that you're having with your Zip. As our good friend @SteveH mentioned, we are aware that some users are experiencing rapid battery drain with while syncing the Zip to an iOS device. If you're using iOS to sync you can turn off all day sync, we do suggest syncing to a computer or Android device if possible.

If you have an Android device, you might want to verify that there is proper contact between the battery and the battery contacts inside your Zip. You can do this by opening the battery door of your Zip, removing your battery, and ensuring that the silver battery tab located in the lower right half of your tracker is flush with the white box outline in the tracker housing. The process can be followed here.

Thanks for your reports and patience.

There is a known bug causing battery drain on iOS. The main thread on this is at the following link and has the latest updates from fitbit:

I am also having trouble with the battery not lasting a full 6 months.  It shows half full on the display, but I can not tap it to wake it.  Has there been a solution to this? I love my no frills zip, I do not want to upgrade to the bracelet type and I dont need all the bells and whistles.

My Zip is doing the same thing. Last week, I changed a battery I'd installed two weeks earlier. I thought the issue might be that particular battery, but now, 5 days later, I'm getting a low battery signal again. Does anyone know what's happening?
