Zip not syncing after replacing battery

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The battery died in my Zip, so I put a new one in it.  When I looked at my dash board a couple of days later I noticed that none of my steps, distance, or calories were recorded.  So I tried to re-sync my Zip but Fitbit Connect on my computer is not recognizing my Zip.  I've already done everything suggested in the help forums...anything else I can try?

Im not sure what is ment by everything.

Some steps are

  1. Pull the dongle for ten seconds then reinsert
  2. Pull battery in the Zip again
  3. Restart PC
  4. Turn PC completely off then turn it on.  No need to do the restart.
  5. Redownload Fitbit connect, install the fresh copy.
  6. Setup the tracker as a replacement unit.
  7. If you also sync through a phone, turn its BT off.
  8. Try syncing tyrough as phone, ask a friend if needed.

Hello,

This is the same problem i'v had. I took out my battery twice and it still wont regaster my steps. I dont know what a dongle is? And my coupter has been turned off and on stice this problem. Also this seems like a lot of work to do just because you had to change your battery. Is this something i'm goitn to have to do each time i have to change the battery? If so I would like a new divice. side note i have a new phone and have installed fit bit app.

@cab_2_2 taking out the Battery is the way to restart the tracker, when it is not working properly, so know this should not be happening.

MY first thought is to remove the battery again, leave it out for 10 seconds, then reinstall. The last time inserting the  battery might have quickly turned on/off/on the tracker.

Did the Zip turn on and properly count steps?

As for the dongle, this is the device the the computer uses to talk to and Sync the Fitbit Zip. I typed Fitbit Dongle into the search bar and found this picture of one.

As for the Sync problems what operating system is your computer running, now that you know what a dongle is, is it plugged into a USB  port that you have synced through before? I would also remove the dongle, wait10 seconds, the computer should beep. Then reinsert the computer should beep again to acknowledge that something was plugged in. Then try a Sync again.

Another question, if your have Win10, is the computer a laptop?
