My phone and my zip are refusing to talk to each other. I know I'm not the only one having this problem. I've tried everything I can think of including a new battery

Welcome to the Forums @Elwynm! I really appreciate that you have shared your feedback. This is really important and help us to keep improving our products and services.
To make sure that your tracker is working correctly, please restart it as suggested here. Also, double check that you app is up to date (for iOS and for Android). And follow the steps on the help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
If this doesn't help, please setup your tracker as a replacement device or attempt to sync using a different mobile device or computer.
I hope this helps, keep me posted with the outcome! 😉

Its still not working properly. I blame the operator (me) more than the equipment. The fitbit itself is working fine, it just refuses to 'talk' to my phone properly. It does sometimes, but mostly not. It keeps telling me that it can't find the fitbit. I've tried what you suggested, but its not happening. I realise its most likely me who is stuffing up. I'm not very technically minded. And my phone probably isn't helping either.

Thank you for the update @Elwynm! Sometimes you can find difficulties to sync when you have a pending update for your Zip tracker. To do so, you can follow the help article How do I update my Fitbit device?
Let me know the outcome! 😉

Hi Elwynm. Have you tried a new battery? I've used Fitbit Zip for 5 years. When it won't sync, I restart it (remove battery, wait 15 sec, replace battery). If it still won't sync, try a new battery. The previous battery likely has enough power for the display and step counting, but not quite enough for Bluetooth. If your smart phone is constantly monitoring your Fitbit Zip, the Fitbit Zip battery will die prematurely. Consequently, I turn off Bluetooth on my phone during the day, turn on Bluetooth at end of day, sync my Fitbit Zip, then turn off Bluetooth again. This should prolong battery life in your Fitbit Zip.

Same problem. New phone that IS compatible. The other day I had to re-install the app multiple times, reboot my phone multiple times, and pull the batteries multiple times before it would sync. By multiple, I mean at least 5 of each. Today...same problem. Nothing. The forums show inummerable people with this issue and NO relief. It is beyond infuriating.
