Welcome to the Fitbit Community @CycleAddict. It's great to have you here. Restarting your Zip shouldn't erase your non synced data. I would recommend performing a restart to your tracker if you are experiencing syncing issues. Additionally, you can follow these troubleshooting steps that might help you out. Hope this helps.
