7 day step total incorrect

I just added my 7 days steps and got a total of 73,171 - but my total in 7 days is showing 21,931... What's up with that? I've installed the app again, logged into the dashboard... Help?!

The 7 day step total shown in the friends tile shows the total steps for today plus the previous 6 days. However, it only includes steps that were directly tracked by your fitbit. Any steps that came from a manually logged activity, use of a 3rd party app or use of your phone's GPS tracking do not count.

Could that explain what you are seeing?

ALL of my steps come from a third party app as I no longer have a Fitbit but sync my steps with an app. If that's the case how do I have any steps in my 7 day total??
