My Alexa doesn’t stay synced. It was the only reason I upgraded.

Hi @MelissaT24. Welcome to the Community.

Thanks for taking the time to share that you have a Versa 2, and I'm sorry that Alexa isn't staying synced. This function is fully supported for iOS devices, and so we can work on this situation may I know the error message displayed on your Fitbit when using Alexa? Is your Versa 2 connected to a stable internet connection?

In the meantime, I'd recommend to try the following:

  1. On the Fitbit app, tap on your profile's icon > Versa 2.
  2. Tap on "Alexa" and then on log out.
  3. Sync your Versa 2 with the Fitbit app.
  4. Make sure the Fitbit app is updated and force quit the Fitbit app.
  5. Reboot your phone and restart your Versa 2.
  6. Open the Fitbit app and set up Alexa one more time.

I'll be around, keep me posted.

So I tried something similar to this when I went to a Fitbit chat with a tech. It only worked for a little bit and then Alexa disconnected again. I tried your suggestion and went through that and it would not connect at all. The error I get is Connection Lost Sync device in Fitbit mobile app. Let app run in background to use Alexa.
If I sync it runs, then a little while later when I go to use it, I get that message again. So the only way it works is when I go into the fitbit app and sync before using it.
The person I spoke with in chat had me check that is set to All-Day Sync. Which it is

I am having the same exact problem. Solutions would be appreciated.

I am finding that all the features disconnect and I get a message it is not synced. Still have not heard back as to how to stay connected/synced. So far this product has been a waste of money

I too am having this issue.

Having this same issue. Thankfully wasn’t the main reason why I upgraded. Mainly the battery but would like to use this feature since I put my Apple Watch to the side.

I fixed my AT&T connection at home and Alexa seems to be happy with that 😁

I am having the same problem. I got my Versa 2 last night. Alexa was working at first without the app itself being open, but settings set to allow to run in the background. Now it's not. I did all the "fixes" yet nothing works. Actually, it worked until I had to uninstall the Fitbit app from my iPhone and reinstall so I would get my Gmail notifications. I did all the fixes after that and nothing has worked.

this was happening to me so what i learned is what it means by “let the app run in the background” is no not clear the app. I usually swipe my apps to clean up the phone (OCD) well keeping the fitbit app open is what u have to do and the isse was fixed!! hope this helped !! just keep fitbit opned instead of swiping it up (apple)!or clear all (android).. I thought even tho i swiped the app up that is was still running in the backround because i was still receiving notifications!!

I will try that. Thank you. I hate having apps open too. However, if it lets me use all functions of the watch I’ll try it.

I recently bought the Sense and feel the exact same way. Apps keep disconnecting or won't even work unless I sync with my phone (including the weather app). I repeatedly get a "phone not found" error message. Why on earth should I keep a $330 smartwatch that isn't smart?
