So the fit bit app on iOS has had all day sync removed and since then my phone battery life is greatly reduced, I have to charge my Fitbit every 3 days instead of every 7 and it no longer displays my current hr only my resting one. Fitbit say this should not affect battery but I shut down the app for 24 hours and guess what? Battery on my phone and Fitbit hardly decreased at all. There is a problem Fitbit!! Fix it please.

All the Fitbit apps have had the ability to turn off all day sync removed. This is to help with the syncing of the data.
When it comes to live data, this is unrelated to with the ability to turn off all day sync. For live data I find that the tracker needs to currently tracking steps.
