My Alta does not appear as a Bluetooth device when trying to pair with my iPhone X. However it does appear to synchronize. I believe that it is working over WiFi or through my iPadm which did pair with the Alta via Bluetooth. However, “Notifications” from my phone do not work. I can pair the Alta with a S8 Note or Windows. It appears that it is only the iPhone X that does not recognize it as a Bluetooth device.

Hello @jjutt, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, please keep in mind that Fitbit trackers do not sync directly through the Bluetooth on your phone but through the Fitbit app. Another thing to remember is that if your Alta has already established a Bluetooth bond with your iPad it won't establish one with your phone which will prevent it from receiving Notifications.
At this moment I would like to suggest you to go to the Bluetooth settings on your iPad and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device. After that, turn off the Bluetooth on your iPad and open the Fitbit app on your iPhone. Go to Account > Alta > Notifications and enable them, you will receive a message asking you to pair your tracker with the phone, pair them and you will be able to receive Notifications (the Alta will now appear as a connected device in your iPhone).
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I cannot get notifications (text/phone) on my fitbit since getting my iPhone X. I have enabled my notifications from my phone, my fitbit is not connected to any other devices and I am still not able to get text notifications. This is a serious compatibility issue. Will there be a fix soon?
I've been on other Fitbit boards and followed advice from others to delete and reinstall the APP. For a brief second the Alta showed up as a paired blue tooth device and then disappeared.
The information from my fitbit (steps, etc) is showing up on my phone. However, iPhone to fitbit is not working. Is there anything else I can try?

Hello @Josephine196, thanks for joining the conversation, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Which tracker are you currently using? Have you tried to restart it yet? If so, I would like to suggest you to reset Notifications from the Fitbit app following these steps:
- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on your tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.
- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.
- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:
- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:
- Tap Pair
- Once you get back to the tracker Options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.
Please remember that some trackers have a Do Not Disturb mode that might prevent them from receive Notifications:
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I tried all of the above. Still not syncing. Continues to look for device.
