Hi @AmyBman, I can definitely help!
First, the Alta isn't currently capable of receiving email notifications, just call, text, and email notifications. Click here for more details. Also, the following steps should get you back on track:
Keep me posted if you need any additional assistance!

Alta not syncing with iPhone 6:
I've just moved from 6+ to 6S+ and the apps moved over. Be aware that there's two stages to the restore, the first puts everything but apps on the phone, then it appears to have finished and I almost disconnected but was distracted and noticed that suddenly the apps began to synch across so do wait for that to complete. You still have to re-add films, music and books though. My game progress (well, the angry birds, solitaire and bejewelled scores) all transferred over. Apple just told me that this is an 'issue' rather than a design feature and that it will be fixed in 'upcoming updates to iOS'.Let's see about that.
I could not get my email/text notifications to sync:
I'm having same issues. Does not all seem to be synced quite right with phone. Mails are there if I manually check but not getting a notification
1.
Go to "Manage my Apple ID" on you computer
2. Login
3. "Password & Security"
4. Generate an App specific password
5. Type in "Messages" as name
6. save password
7. turn off Apple Watch
8. Disable iMessage on iPhone and reenable it
9. turn Apple Watch back on
10. Wait for "Wrong password error" or Open Messages app on watch
11. When prompted to enter you password again, type in your new specific iMessage password.
12. DONE
13. I remember reading another thread somewhere, if your using your iPhone or iPad you won't get notifications on your apple watch. Apparently this is to conserve battery.
cannot sync the Alta with my phone:
1. Turn off Bluetooth, turn it back on, and then open the Fitbit app.
2. If your tracker didn't sync, force quit the Fitbit app and open it again.
3. If your tracker didn't sync, reboot your mobile device and then open the Fitbit app again.
4. If your tracker didn't sync, restart your tracker. For more information, see How do I restart my tracker?
5. If your tracker didn't sync, try syncing with your computer.
