Alta not syncing with phone.

Hello! I got a Fitbit Alta for Christmas 2016. It has worked wonderfully and I have absolutely LOVED it. However, a few weeks ago it quit syncing with my iphone. So I tried to reset it and that did not work. Then I tried to update the app. No luck. Then I removed the Alta and tried to reconnect it and now it will not even connect with my phone. I have tried to turn the Bluetooth on and off and no luck. I know it is not the phone, because I have the fitbit app on two different phones that I carry and both quit working. Any help?

I am really frustrated with not having the app. I used it for challenges to keep my motivated. 😞

Hello @chanstib2004, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

If your Alta is not syncing correctly or not setting up correctly, please try the following:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone, check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Go to the App Store on your phone and make sure the Fitbit app has been fully updated.
  3. Restart your Alta once again, only this time, leave it plugged in and charging.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  5. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue

Please, also make sure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal (or enough cellular data) and that no other Bluetooth devices are around, as they might interfere with the setup process.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted. Smiley Wink
