Any way to remove the “ready to hit your target today” notifications on the app?

IMG_2897.jpeg

I don’t want to see this message and can’t figure out how to remove it.

I have cardio load disabled as a metric to see on the main screen but I still see this notification. Even dismissing it (hitting the x) doesn’t prevent it from showing next time you open the app.

Anyone figured out a way to remove this permanently?

@zoezoezoe   Another user suggested this and said it worked.  Tap on your profile picture, then Your data in Fitbit.  Scroll down to Your Fitbit data, then tap on Deletion options.   Delete all Cardio load data.

Fitbit is aware of this.  We need an app update to address this issue.  But the user said this works.

Update: Thank you for your votes.  It doesn't work.  My husband doesn't use this feature and this didn't work for him.

Thanks for the tip, though I'm not sure I want to delete everything - I just want it to stop nagging me about my cardio target when it doesn't work for all workout types.

I hope they do update it so we can remove the nagging banner because it has caused me real harm. Strangely, it doesn't give me sufficient cardio credit for aquatic exercise even though my zone minutes are ample, then it consequently tells me I need to get a bunch more cardio points. When I listened to it over my own body last week (because I reasoned that maybe increasing fitness is just harder than I knew), I got overly tired, my immune system got down, and I caught the norovirus. To my surprise, an hour plus of aqua dance didn't produce a single cardio point last week (though the graph and workout summary don't match) but each occurrence of lying on the couch retching into my barf bucket did! Not OK.

Even now, though, my eager-to-please personality can't totally ignore it's suggestions of failure, no matter how unreasonable. It's psychologically unhealthy to encounter and I can get the same target information on the 'Cardio' tab for the days that I am not working out in the pool, so why do we need this information at the top of the screen anyway?

I followed these instructions and the message said it might take up to a month to delete the cardio load data. Why?

I want to know how to remove this permanently too. It seems that ever since Google took over, the Fitbit so called “improvements” are just annoying and not at all helpful. I gotta say, this nonsense is sending me to a competing tracker.

So, what fitness tracker are you researching? I'm interested in your
findings, as I have noticed Fitbit going downhill since Google bought it
out, too.

I just started to look

I tried the Apple Watch, but it was too complicated. It's a good "all in
one" but expensive with a lot more features than I'll ever use. Daily
charging was a pain, too. But thank you for your reply.

Agree - this thing pops up and I need to close it constantly so I can see both steps and heartrate in the same window. Plus for a fitness tool - it's constantly telling me to slow down and rest (like I don't know my own body and my own limitation).

YES!!! Thank you for stopping the madness.

My EXACT thoughts!

This works, but it may take 24 to 48 hours for the message to stop showing up.  The nice part is now I can see my steps and heart rate at the same time, which is very important when you are on the treadmill.

What works?

Totally agree!! It nags me for overdoing it and then, I was sick for a few days and it nagged me about not doing enough. Just STOP! I know what I'm doing! And I agree that Google has ruined a good app. I miss the online website and dashboard. One more thing a big company has ruined.

Best Answer

It doesn’t work, it just resets your cardio data and will begin giving you the notices again as soon as it gets enough new data... I hoped that if I didn’t choose to maintain or increase fitness it would stay off, but it keeps showing up anyway.

Fitbit should be embarrassed that they are so unresponsive to customer’s wants and needs! SHAME!

I can't stand it either. I want what I want and really nothing else. I will do something other than Fitbit once this one dies,

I was looking into the Amazfit brand and it looks really good.

Those who are reporting that the nag pop ups return are correct--it's back for me, too.

Is there a way to report this to Google ... or would it even do any good?

.. I’m hoping they’re working on it, but that it may not be as simple to fix without affecting other features.  It just does not seem like a useful feature and the numbers they give you totally arbitrary/stupid

Add useless info without the option to remove? Feels like WE are the product, not the customer.

I don’t want to lose historical data but want rid of this scar on the front page.
