Any way to remove the “ready to hit your target today” notifications on the app?

IMG_2897.jpeg

I don’t want to see this message and can’t figure out how to remove it.

I have cardio load disabled as a metric to see on the main screen but I still see this notification. Even dismissing it (hitting the x) doesn’t prevent it from showing next time you open the app.

Anyone figured out a way to remove this permanently?

Moderator edit: clarified subject.

I FINALLY reached a real person by phone in Support, who gave me this fix.  I won't know if it works for the next day or two, but I offer it with hopeful anticipation!

iPhone / Settings / Apps / Fitbit / Notifications / turn OFF

Good luck!

This seems like notifications that you would get on your phone, not within the app itself, but happy to be wrong!

The nag popup is appearing "on my phone" within the Fitbit app.  I'm cautiously optimistic that this fix will work, but Google will hear from me if it doesn't!

I turned my notifications following your instructions. Sadly it hasn’t worked for me. The cheerful message was there waiting for me when I opened the app!

😠

If this happens to me tomorrow I'll turn off and on my phone.  If it still shows up, I'll go fitness tracker shopping.

I tried to turn off notification just like posted above didn't work.

It seems that nothing works. I feel like the only hope is that Fitbit is trying to work it out and will eventually update so the message only displays if you have cardio load turned on.. what I’m doing for now is going into settings, manage data, selecting cardio load and choosing delete data all time., and see if that at least keeps it off for the day.  Would like to find another tracker that is small and discrete, but somewhat accurate for the few metrics I care about, but I haven’t found any replacements. The only option seems to be to stop relying on external devices and try to tune into what my body is actually telling me.. that seems way too scary at this point, though! 😭

I’ve used various Fitbits since 2011 but this is the second time in a year an unwanted change by them has disrupted my use, coupled with increasing problems trying to charge it I think our time is drawing to a close, what little info I might need can probably be garnered from my iPhone which is usually with me.

So I suppose the next question is how to download load 14 years of data 😜. I’ll DuckDuckGo the answer as I doubt google will be able to help based on current experience 😂

I hear you! The most frustrating thing about community notes is the feeling that Google doesn't want to bother with customer support so they just throw us under the bus and tell us to let other users figure it out. Apparently they're not even interested in what works and what doesn't And that's really a shame.

This worked!! Thank you!

I’m not sure what you’re referring to working, but so far seems everything is a temporary fix.. the longest lasting option seems to be to go to manage data (found under Google account  profile pic menu), select cardio load and then delete data..(either for today or all time). I’m doing this every day now.

Well, that's inconvenient!  Google--yoo hoo, anyone there??

I came here today to see if I could turn the messages off too.  I have a training schedule I work on with my personal trainer so these suggestionsare not helpful. I don't find the load suggestions useful because there are no criteria how you get those cardio load points. Zone minutes is clear in comparison. The tone of the messages is very ' get back on track' and not encouraging or enlightenjng as to how to. I feel like I'm being told off. I did try deleting the cardio load data but that didn't seem to make a difference, the messages still pop up. I'm using the app much less than I was as a result of this message pop up. It seems many people have similar  issues yet it's still there.

I love how these complaints are from January 2025 and this issue has not been resolved!  Hey Google, is anyone there?  I've been shopping for a new tracker that reliably tracks steps without having to manually refresh my phone ON THE HOUR in order to track hourly activity.  Now they added the nagging "YOU ARE AT RISK FOR UNDERTRAINING" OR "YOU ARE AT RISK FOR  OVERTRAINING" alerts that can't be silenced.  Hilarious that there is a "hack" fix for basic functionality on these devices.  Thanks all for your recommendations for other trackers.  My husband has a Garmen and loves it. (p.s. it works).

Is there truly a "Hack fix?" Because I have tried every suggestion given to me and nothing has worked. Sometimes I get two or three a day. Sometimes I can't even dismiss the nag screen by tapping on the X. And no, obviously Google is not monitoring the community forum. Or if they are, they don't care to address or fix customer complaints.

I would be interested in the Garmin device your husband has.

No, I didn't see the previous post so you may be right, they look for certain words!

thank you for the information. I'll do some research. I really like the Fitbit and I'm very disappointed at the lack of support. But those pop-up nag windows drive me nuts!

Same!  I thought I could ignore the stupid pop up, but it gets tiring to get nagged every day by a robot.  : /

you can disable it for a few days by going to your profile photo, choosing manage data, cardio load , and delete (for all time data). I have heard it may stay away for a week or so, but I generally don’t risk it and just clear the cardio load data whenever I think of it.

I'd really like the option to just click on the X and have it disappear.  Call me crazy! ha ha.

I totally agree, I use the Fitbit app to track my heart rate while exercising and to compare my results. I don’t want messages from what the app programmers think I should do today. Please listen to your users and give us the ability to turn it off!!!
