App Notifications list is empty.

Hi,

I just recently bought a Fitbit Ionic, and I can't receive any 3rd-party notifications.

I do receive SMS notifications, so the device is paired correctly.

It seems to be an issue with the iOS application. The "App Notifications" stay empty, even after receiving notifications on my phone from Pushbullet or Twitter.

I tested on my old Pebble watch, and the 3rd-party notifications still works fine.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. If you have received Notifications from an app and said app is still not showing under the list of "App Notifications", make sure the push notifications is coming through even when your phone is locked. Then, go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Ionic > Notifications > App Notifications and swipe down to refresh the list. If it's still not appearing, force-quit the app by double tapping the home button and swiping up the app.

After that, go back to the list of App Notifications and check if the apps are now showing.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work.

The App Notifications page is still empty, with the the default background image. I can't swipe doesn't to refresh.

UPDATE:

@MarcoGFitbit So far, I tried 'reset to factory' on my watch, re-login in the account, reinstalling the iOS app, even disconnecting and uninstalling the Pebble app, which works fine with 3rd-party notifications.

I'm a bit out of idea.

I'm on version 27.32.10.15 on the Ionic, 2.51 of the iOS app, running 11.4 on an iPhone 6s.

UPDATE 2:

If it is of any help, setting the phone language to English will display the 3rd-party applications properly in the Fitbit app, but it gets back to being empty when set to French

Hello @Stef_Levesque, thanks for taking the time to reply, I hope you're doing well. It's great to have you on board @Drikdur, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have already tried the suggestion provided earlier and for trying some troubleshooting steps on your own. At this moment I would like to ask you to change your phone language to English, then go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Your Device > Notifications > App Notifications and take a screenshot of what you're able to see. Then, change the language of your phone to French (Canada), repeat the process and take a screenshot. Finally, change the language to French (France) and take another screenshot.

After taking the screenshots, follow these steps to upload them in your next reply, this will be very helpful for me to check this issue further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

It seems the upgrade to the Fitbit iOS App v2.52 resolve the issue. I am now able to see the 3rd-party apps.

Thanks for the support!

I know this is an old topic, but I was having the same problem, and I finally solved it today. Getting notifications to show up on your lock screen is not actually enough. The notifications also need to show up in Notification Center on iOS. I previously had this turned off for Google Calendar notifications because I want my calendar notifications to go away after the meeting. I had to turn on Notification Center notifications to get my Fitbit to buzz before meetings.

I would love it if Fitbit updated its integration to include lock screen notifications that don't go into Notification Center. I'm fairly sure there wasn't a distinction when this feature was developed, but iOS notifications have become much more nuanced over the years.

Hi! I am having the same issue. In fact, after I updated the firmware on my Fitbit I do not receive notifications on it whatsoever. I have tried all the steps in online forums and FAQs but nothing is working. I deleted the device on my Fitbit app and re-paired it. That’s when the app notifications screen became blank. It worked great before I updated the firmware. How can I get help with this issue?

@luis9544   You added on to a fairly old thread.  You don't say what model Fitbit you use.  You don't give enough information to help with your "no notifications whatsoever" issue.  I think you should start a new thread here in the iOS forum with more details about this part of your issue.

With respect to the app notifications, that happened when you deleted the device, then set it up again.  I don't know if the Android version works this way, but this is normal (but annoying) behavior for the iOS version of the Fitbit app.  A new device starts with a clean slate, even if that device is the one you just removed.  An app will appear after it sends you a notification, then you will be able to toggle it on.

I’m not seeing any apps on the list to turn on after.a watch update.  Since I rely on this I’m hoping you can help.  I have done everything to get this to work but at this point nothing.
