App doesn't seem to be estimating calories when manually logging exercise

Hi! Recently, I've been trying some spinning classes, which aren't automatically logged by my FitBit Alta. So, I log them manually. As soon as I log spinning, the app "guesses" that I've burnt 113 calories, and this estimate doesn't change regardless of how I change the other variables, such as time, distance, etc. Now, I'm pretty sure even my fat **ahem** isn't only burning 113 calories during a 40-minute spin class when the bike is estimating a distance of 9.5 miles. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks very much!

Hello @PatriciaY, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, please note that when logging a manual activity the app will adjust the calories based on the time you've exercised, when you adjust the distance of your workout, for example, a spinning session, the value that will change is your pace. When you change the duration of the workout, the calories (and the pace) will change. For example:

In here you can check that for 41 minutes of spinning, the estimated calories are 118. This data will not change when you edit the distance.

Spinning, 41 min.Spinning, 41 min.

Now, check the image below, you will notice the calories increased once I edited the duration of the exercise even when the distance is the same.

If you notice, the pace changed as well to adjust to the duration of the time.

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.
