Unable to update Charge 2. (fbbluetootherrordomain error 18)

I just bought a replacement Charge 2. I’ve had nothing but problems. I finally got it to sync once on January 11th after so many attempts but wouldn’t update my charge 2 on the Fitbit ap. My Fitbit screen just flashes to set it up. It won’t sync now and still won’t update.  I’ve done so much to try and get it to work and it’s still is not working, on my Fitbit ap it says fbbluetootherrordomain error 18. I have an IPhone 6. Is there any other options on what to do than what’s out there online?

Hello @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board! It's always nice to see you @Rich_Laue, thanks for your help with this situation.

@SunsetRunner, I appreciate you have let me know the troubleshooting steps you've already tried in order to try to resolve this issue. At this moment I would like to suggest you the following:

  • Restart your Charge 2, then leave it plugged in and charging.
  • Uninstall the app from your phone.
  • Restart your phone
  • Install the app back.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere
  • Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal.

Then, please try to set up your tracker as a new device once again, making sure your phone doesn't lock during the process:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  2. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  3. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  4. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink

Hi, yeah It still won’t sync. Must be something with the Bluetooth in the Fitbit. My Bluetooth on my cell connects to anything else just fine.

Hello @SunsetRunner, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

Please note that Fitbit trackers do not sync directly through the Bluetooth on your phone, they use the Fitbit app to communicate with it. Have you tried the troubleshooting steps I've provided above? If so, please let me know so I can determine the next step we should take.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.
