App notifications blank in Fitbit app on iPhone

Inspire 2 was no longer syncing to Fitbit app and I had to remove and readd the device. Now it’s reconnected im not receiving app notifications apart from the basic call/text/calendar and the App Notifications page appears blank. Have tried all the  recommendations I’ve seen to restart Fitbit/app/phone, reinstalled app, made sure my iOS is up to date, turned both Bluetooth and system notifications on and off, received the missing notifications on the phone since reconnecting Fitbit, but I still can’t see the list or get the notifications on my phone. Can anyone help?

Same problem here with my Fitbit Sense 2.

Why ?

At that price it should be working and not supposed to be that complicated to fix it…

Please try to go to below setting. Add 1 extra language, This may help Fitbit to have preferred language option.

Settings → General → Language & Region → Add Language

@MarioSFitbit I’ve now updated to Fitbit app Version 4.66 and IOS 26.4 and am still having the same issue with no new apps appearing on the list even after receiving new phone notifications. Was this issue fixed in version 4.66 or is a solution still being worked on? Thanks

Have you try AnonPoster1000's method? change the Region to US under iPhone Settings>General>Language & Region

Best Answer

Go to iPhone settings, scroll down till you find apps folder (mine was very last one) open it, scroll down to fitbit, open Fitbit and look at language setting at bottom. If it says English UK change it to just English and then see if your app list is back

Change iPhone language to English only.

settings,general,language and region “English”

Thanks all for your recommendations on this but unfortunately I have tried changing the location settings already and I’m still not seeing any new apps on the list hence my message to Mario yesterday to ask if the latest app update included a fix for this issue.

On the latest iOS update 26.4 there is no language settings under the Fitbit app in settings as per my screenshot that I posted. I also tried adding a second language as someone previously suggested which also didn’t work.

After the iOS 26.4 update I was able to get the Preferred Language option to appear under the Fitbit app in Settings by going to Settings>Language & Region>Add Language then I picked German*. When you get this screen (screenshot shows French just for example) select the English option. Once I’d  done this I could then see the Preferred Language option under Fitbit in Settings and had the option to change from English UK to just English (or German/French, whichever language you added). *I couldn’t get the option to appear by adding another English option, so tried German and it worked.
Unfortunately for me, even after doing this it didn’t fix the original issue of apps not appearing on the list in the Fitbit app but I think it has worked for some.

Hi everyone and warm welcome to the new members.

I appreciate all your messages and feedback regarding this situation, and I'm also thankful for your patience in the process.

@AnonPoster1000 about your question, yes, the 4.66 version of the Fitbit app should fix the blank screen in the app notifications settings screen, as explained in this post:

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi @MarioSFitbit , thanks for confirming.

Unfortunately, whilst I no longer have a blank screen on the App Notifications screen, I am still unable to get any of the apps I want to appear on the App list in Fitbit, even when I have received numerous phone notifications from those apps. I still have the same list of 11 apps, 10 of which aren’t useful.

I’ve even tried changing the language of each of the missing apps from English (UK) to English in iPhone settings to match the same for the Fitbit app as I saw another post suggesting this, but none of this has helped.

Do you know if other users are still experiencing the same issue? Is there anything else you can suggest I try?

Thanks

Hi @MarioSFitbit , I think the app enhancement is still not fully fix the issue. For other language than "English", it is already able to have the list, but what it will appear is just whatever app that has not switch to turn on. Whatever switch to turn on, the app will be disappeared in the list after refresh. Also, we would like to know is App Notification able to support all apps or just certain apps? If just certain apps, can you share with us it is based on what to select the apps able to be supported?

Thanks.

Still broken on an iphone set to "german". Updated the fitbit app, waited for an app that is not in the list yet to send me a notification, looked inside the fitbit app afterwards, it is not showing up. This is ridiculous.

Still broke after trying everything seen in this thread. iOS 26.4, latest Fitbit app toggling language blah blah blah.  To answer someone else's question in this thread, my previous Versa 3 device had over 40 choices for app notifications, it used to work with every App that sent a notification of any kind.  It appears Apple has locked something down in iOS 26.4 and Fitbit developers are still trying to figure out how to deal with it.  As others have stated I have a list of 10 useless apps, none of the ones I want to show up on the Versa 4 watch I had to upgrade to a couple weeks ago, which reset everything as a new device.

Very very frustrating and looking into other devices that will do what I want, when I want if they don't get this fixed soon.

You’ll need (on an iPhone) to go to settings , general, language and region, add English (US) so you end up with two preferred languages. When you then open settings, app, Fitbit you can choose a different language. Fiddly, though restored some notifications for me

so... 4.66 didn't fix it for me and many others here. The language workarounds don't do anything and honestly, I am german and not setting my phone to english just because fitbit messed up. I think it has something to do with this since ios 26.3 with new EU regulations

"iOS 26.3 introduces enhanced notification forwarding in the EU, allowing third-party smartwatches (like Garmin or Samsung) to display full app notification content. This feature is part of compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) to improve interoperability, allowing user-selected app notifications to be forwarded to one third-party wearable at a time.

  • Key Functionality: Users can control which applications forward notifications and view full content, similar to Apple Watch functionality.
  • Limitation: Notification forwarding to a third-party wearable cannot be active at the same time as an Apple Watch.
  • Location Constraints: This feature is available specifically to users in the European Union.
  • Setup: The option is found in the Settings app under a new "Notification Forwarding" section.
  • Additional EU Features: In addition to notifications, iOS 26.3 in the EU enables AirPods-like pairing for third-party accessories such as headphones and wearables.
  • Development Notes: This functionality is built on a new AccessoryNotifications public framework.

Some initial reports indicated potential volatility with the feature, with one user on Reddit stating in early February 2026 that the option temporarily disappeared for them, though it is expected to be a permanent feature of the EU release."

I was hoping for an improvement in terms of notifications. Instead it seems like no one at fitbit was prepared or used the ios betas to make sure their feature still works

I’ve had the same problem with the notifications on my Versa 4. I’ve updated the iOS on my phone and the Fitbit app to the latest version (4.67). I’m in Canada, so switching to English (US) doesn’t work. I’ve tried reinstalling the app and paired again as well. There is a list of notifications in the Fitbit app, but it’s hit and miss. I’m missing some banking apps and all social media apps. Even when I receive mobile notifications from missing apps, they don’t populate in the list. It’s frustrating because all apps were available and working before updates to the iOS system and the Fitbit app. I hope a fix will be coming because it’s supposed to work as a smartwatch.
