App stops recording workout and becomes non responsive

My app is up to date.

my phone is an iPhone XR running 14.3

i did see this was a previous issue for some people but seemed to be fixed end of 2020.

The last two weeks my app is randomly stopping tracking my workout . I set it up and then when I go to stop it not only is it not tracking it but it is like it never started. On top of that whenever it stops the screen becomes unresponsive where I can’t touch any of the tiles -with a +

originally I had to remove the app to get it to become responsive but have discovered logging in and out works.

This is increasingly frustrating and is in addition to how it only notifies me half of the time to texts and messages.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @EhK.

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I am sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused. I recommend trying the following:

1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

2. Force quit, and reopen the Fitbit app to refresh the connection with your device.
3. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
4. Restart your phone and start tracking your workout.

For more information about tracking your workouts, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

Regarding the issue with notifications, sometimes a missing requirement is the cause and I recommend confirming the steps to set up notifications and follow the troubleshooting tips in this help article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

I'll be around if you need further help.

Device was restarted the first time installed as past issues has led me to know that’s usually the first thing suggested. Force quitting doesn’t work. I shouldn’t have to restart my phone almost daily just to get it to track my workouts.

I’m beginning to notice a pattern of my Fitbit starting to not work right almost a year in or so.

i don’t want to track through my Fitbit as it is draining my battery severely and barely lasting a day.
