I just finished charging my Charge HR (the display on the band showed full). I've been wearing it for about 2 hours now and the battery indicator in the iOS app shows it almost empty at red which can't be. Is it an app bug perhaps?

@wildchylde What's important to note is that the battery level displayed in the Fitbit App is the battery level from the last time you synced your tracker.

Syncing your tracker will update the battery level in your app to the current level. Hope this helps!

Sounds like it is not fully synced.  Same thing happened to me.  Try turning the bluetooth on and off and sync again.  if it is still there, you can either wait and see or restart your fitbit.

Here are the instructions to restart:

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port and insert the other end into the port on the back of your Fitbit Charge HR™. Your Charge HR will begin charging.
  2. Press and hold the button for 10 to 12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and a version number (e.g. "V30").
  3. Let go of the button.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

I'm getting that a lot, too...even after multiple syncs

I always have to hit the right arrow to go to HR on my app to see if the battery is fully charged as it will show low until I do this. Must be some bug in the system. The display on my HR doesn't have a battery icon to tell me the battery level when I'm wearing it. I can only see that when it is charging. I wish it did. Must be some bug in the system. I can't get notifications that it is fully charged since I have a plain cell phone & not one of those fancy ones. I wish they would make it to where we could get notifications on our iPads that it is fully charged. I get notifications for everything else on it, & this is important.

I had the same issue but even after restarting my FitBit Charge HR - I found that doing a soft reboot of my iPhone had to be done so the battery indicator would show correctly.

Close the app on your phone and restart it.

I had the same problem and this fixed it !!

My fitbit was fully charged, but instead of showing red or green for the battery level in the iPhone app, it showed a gray vertical bar that was at 50%.  It did not go up or down when I charged it.

Restarting the iPhone fixed it.  Yay!

Not true. please read all the comments above and below. Syncing isn't fixing the issue.

I was having the same problem.

I got mine to update after closing the app and turning off Bluetooth then turning Bluetooth back on and reopening the app.

I wish we could see battery life on the Fitbit display.

Could we get a battery level indicator on the device itself. I should be able to scroll through and have a screen that indicates the battery life.
Best Answer
That's great, except that multiple syncs make no difference. I'll sync mine from my phone after a charge, and the battery never updates. I know it's syncing because everything else updates fine; it's just the battery.

I would also like some kind of alarm that goes off on the device when the battery needs charging. I don't have a fancy cell phone & use the app on my iPad. I don't always have my iPad with me to check the battery status. Also, there are many times I am on my iPad doing something & I don't receive a notice that it needs charging. I do get an email telling me, but i'm not looking at my email that often, so I can go for a long time not knowing the battery needs charging.

I have the opposite problem, android app shows battery is full, but batterry recharge indicator appears on FITBIT Surge, i.e. the battery icon appears empty.  I have shut it down and synced it several times.
