Blaze not syncing after latest iOS update.

My iphone 6+ had a recent major os update, i'm honestly not sure which ios it is. However, since that update, my blaze is refusing to connect. I have forgot the bluetooth connection, I have reset the app, the watch, the phone. I run twice a day, and it's no longer consistently uploading the data. The first day, the bluetooth connection kept crashing the exercise.

I didn't want to upgrade from my blaze until my blaze was truly broken, not bricked from an update. I realize (hopefully) that blaze will have a patch to fix this issue,  but I would like a work around until the software can catch up. I realize the newest smart  watch from fitbit is probably without these issues, but my blaze is only one year old and doesn't have anything wrong with it.

We also have a smart scale (the aria I believe) but that syncs through the wifi so I haven't seen an issue with that.

There was a software update yesterday that seemed to fix the issue. My watch so far, the last three walks, connect quickly to the app, it doesn't crash, and it maintains the data consistently.

I figured there would be a patch, and I appreciate the IT who worked fast on it, as well as the Mods on the forum who took note of our complaints. Thank you.

Hello @ultrapandachan, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I'm not quite sure about the issue you're experiencing, is your Blaze syncing everything excepting your exercise? If so, are these exercises GPS-based? If that's the case I would like to suggest the following:

  1. If you're having trouble with connected GPS and if you haven't already done so, please check the following three GPS-related settings on your iOS device:
    • Make sure your device can track your activity when you're out of wi-fi range. To do so, tap Settings > Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is on.
    • Make sure the app can track GPS when your device is locked. To do so, tap Settings > General > Background App Refresh and make sure it's on.
    • Make sure your device is able to identify your location. To do so, tap Settings > Privacy > Location Services and make sure it's on.
  2. When starting a GPS activity, turn off WiFi by going to Settings > WiFi as if you only turn it off from the Control Center it will only disconnect you from the current WiFi signal and will not turn off WiFi itself, this will prevent GPS from working correctly as your phone will be looking for a WiFi signal to connect the entire time.

Now, in case you're not able to see activities recorded from your Blaze that have been recently synced, please go to the activities section on your online Dashboard and check if the activities are showing here. If they are, try the following in the app:

  • Force-close the app by double tapping the home button on your phone, then swipe up the app.
  • Log out, restart your phone and log back in.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

I open the exercise on my watch and use the GPS function. Shortly after I start to run, the watch crashes. I carry my phone on my arm, in an arm band, and have never had an issue before this update. I have had the app with my fitbit one, and with my blaze. When it doesn't crash, and allow the full exercise to be tracked, without me doing anything differently, it will only upload the data without the GPS tracking sometimes, and sometimes with. I have done everything you have suggested, as I tried to troubleshoot before complainning about it. I have some exercises not even syncing, like yesterday's night walk. The watch showed the completed page, when I opened my phone app, it never synced. I redid a lot fo things this morning and it never synced.

My pace data isn't accurate without my GPS tracking, and my pace data is what I mostly use to train.

I have been checking both the app and the website and it hasn't seem to consistently record. Had I not had the blaze for over a year with no issues, I would have honestly returned it by now because with no rhyme or reason, it's different outcomes. And only started this after the latest IOS update. So i'm confident the latest update is the issue, and is interfering with the app's ability to talk to the watch correctly.

It also seems to be handling my sleep and general steps just fine. I use it to track my sleep, and it updates my alarms. It really is the exercises that i'm having the issues with.
