Blaze only receiving call notifications on iOS 11 beta

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Good morning everyone,

I downloaded the iOS 11 beta yesterday morning on my iPhone with no issues. All notifications worked just fine on the Blaze until about 5 hours after, at which point only call notifications came through. Everything is checked on in the app in regards to notifications, I have notifications turned on on the Blaze itself and I have followed the guidelines on how to disconnect everything and start fresh. Nothing has worked as of yet. While I know that this is a beta operating system, does anything know what could cause the Blaze to work fine for half the day and then adjust to only receiving call notifications with no further changes made? Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Daniel

Hello @kjghiytrfj11, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

If you're not receiving notifications on your Blaze and you have already tried all the troubleshooting available, it's possible that the beta build for iOS 11 is the one causing trouble in the way the app communicates with the tracker as the app has only been built to support up to iOS 10. I'll make sure to notify our team so they can take a look at it and in case I receive any update I'll make sure to let you know. In the meantime, It will be very helpful for me if you could describe every step you've followed to try to resolve the issue.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

There was a new iOS 11 Beta released to developers yesterday. My notifications are working fine so far since I've installed it. Smiley Happy

iOS Public Beta 2 is available now. That should fix these issues if it's the same as iOS 11 Dev Beta 3

I have the Fitbit blaze and upgraded to iOS 11 Beta 3 today. I have uninstalled Fitbit app and reinstalled, I have reset iPhone. Text messages still do not work. 😩

Hello @Medic418, thanks for joining us, it's great to have you on board. Thanks for taking the time to reply as well @TwistMyMind, I appreciate it.

@Medic418, are you currently having issues with all notifications or just text ones? Have you already restarted your Blaze by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen? If so, let's try to restart Notifications on your phone by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone, check if Blaze is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Blaze > Notifications and enable them once again.

Please remember that the following options should be enabled on your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit:

  • Allow Notifications.
  • Show in Notification Center
  • Show on Lock Screen.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

No dice. I have iOS 11 public beta 2 and it is still not working.

Hopefully public beta 3 fixes this as I just missing a meeting because of this. First world problems I guess... 😉

With public beta 2 (latest public version in date of this post) I have been able to get text messages and face book notifications to work albeit for only a few messages and thenIt stops.  Phone calls have been steady. The step I take to get it to work.

- log out of fit bit app

- uninstall fit bit app

-  forget device in blue tooth settings

-  reset all settings in iPhone settings

-  force reset of iphone

- reinstall Fitbit app

- connect device to fit bit app

this process sometimes works and sometimes not at all

when it does work it may have worked for a couple hours then it stops completely sending all notifications except for call.

The good old news is that I have seen it work so I know it is going to be possible

im sure iPhone made a change in the new iOS and Fitbit app has to be changed to allow it to work. Hopefully with the next beta it will be more stable or Fitbit app designers will figure out what’s going on.

I wasn’t willing to a reset of all settings.

Update:  My notifications are now working!  I have had steady notifications for about a week now. I followed my previous steps once again and notifications began working and have remained working since.
