When I try to sync my Fitbit with my new iPhone 11 pro with iOs13, it fails and gives the error message that I need to enable Bluetooth (even though Bluetooth is running). Turning off/on Bluetooth or closing the app doesn’t help.

Hi everyone. It's nice to see you here in the Forums, and welcome to our new members. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate you for the steps that you've tried on your own, as well for sharing other suggestions in this thread. You've done a good job and I'm glad that the steps advised in this thread worked for some of you.

As you may know, the Fitbit app hasn't been optimized to work with the iPhone 11 Pro and this might be cause some issues when syncing or receiving notifications. Our team is working hard to add this phone to our supported devices list and you can also add your vote to this request posted in the Feature Suggestions boardThe more votes an idea receives, the better chance it has of getting the attention of the developers.

For the ones that are still having this issue, while there isn't a guarantee that it'll always work there are some steps that we can try to troubleshoot the Bluetooth connection between your Fitbit devices and your phones. Please give a try to the following in the given order:

  1. Remove your Fitbit device from the Bluetooth settings. If you had a previous phone, remove it from there as well.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections that aren't in use.
  3. Verify if the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version (3.7)
  4. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile's icon > Fitbit device image.
  6. Tap on notifications and follow the prompts to pair via Bluetooth.

For the ones that are having issues to receive notifications, try the steps above and then set the notifications one more time. Also, make sure to enable the three types of alerts that appear on your phone's settings > Notifications > Messages.

Keep me posted!

I’m also having the same problem with my new IPhone 11, I’ve wasted all day trying to get my Versa to link up with the iPhone - have tried everything that was in the help section of Fitbit, it’s still not working. And yes I’m just a tad annoyed!!

I purchased new iPhone 11Pro/iOS13 yesterday.  My Fitbit does not syn.  I have turned Bluetooth off and on about 50 times.  I have deleted Fitbit and reinstalled on my iPhone 11Pro about 5 times.  In fact, when I go to reinstall Fitbit, it does not recognize my Alta HR when I have it plugged into the USB.  There is a HUGE Fitbit bug with iPhone 11Pro/OS 13.  I have wasted 4 hours of my life today on this.  It's not an Apple probllem.  Fitbit is not compatible with iPhone 11Pro/iOS13.  I may buy an Apple watch today.  Goodbye, Fitbit.  This is beyond frustrating.  Hundreds of people writing to this forum that their Fitbit does not work with iOS 13.  None of the remedies suggested fixed my problem.  I even reinsalled iOS13, NOTHING WORKS!

I’ve spent most of today trying to get it to work - it spasmodically works but definitely not reliable, so disappointed as I love my Fitbit Versa.

PROBLEM SOLVED!  Wow!  I cannot believe how stupid I am.

My old iPhone 6+ Bluetooth was turned on, and it was near my brand-new iPhone 11Pro.  My iPhone 11Pro with iOS 13 could not sync with my Fitbit Bluetooth because it was being used by my old cell phone, even though the old cell phone, the iPhone 6+ had no SIM card in it.  I turned Bluetooth off on old phone.  I then reinstalled my Alta HR on new iPhone 11Pro/iOS13.  It asked if I wanted to "pair" with the new phone, and now everything is working.

Amazing!   This will help new phone users, I think.

Thank you @Rkearns  for taking the time to post your solution! My old phone was still on and the same thing, I turned it off and it linked right up. Really appreciate it! Even after an hour with Apple they couldn’t figure it out...crazy! Thanks again!

I just got off the phone with customer support and they told me the iPhone 11 is not yet compatible with my Versa. They do not have a time frame of when this will be resolved but stated to keep an eye on the Fitbit app for updates. Currently everything works except I cannot get any of my text messages to show up on my Versa. Needless to say I am not pleased.

I just got off the phone with customer support, try going to settings> bluetooth>tap on the 'i" next to your device and toggle on> share system notifications.  It solved the problem for me.

Yeah and customer service tried resetting the Fitbit and going through a plethora of suggestions before they finally told me it’s just not compatible 😞

thanks for the suggestion though

This solved my problem! I just purchased iPhone 11 Pro Max and was trying to get my Fitbit set up. Simply turning off my old phone allowed the sync to happen and work as normal. Thanks so much!

Wow thank you so much! I had the EXACT same problem. Even down to the iphone6 detail.
Silly me thought it would be solved by deleting the fitbit app on the iPhone6,totally disregarding the Bluetooth connection.
I'm so happy!
